C0-Pilot 8 can I get it to run on an XDA11i

Folks, just read a review of co pilot 8 and it seems to be very good, I am hacked off with Tom Tom's poor accuracy and as this is based on Navteq not Tele atlas I thought I'd give it a whirl.

Two problems, first their site doesn't list my device as compatible it lists my device under co pilot 7 tho'

secondly I do want version 8 but don't want to change my XDA11i (Actually it's a Qtek 2020i but they are identical).

I have absolutely no problem buying a legit copy. It's only about £25 anyway. But I won't be eligible for a refund if I ignore the advice of ALK (The manufacturer)

So I have a dliema, if I go for V7 will I get the latest mapping? anyone know what the latest mapping is?

Anyone know if there are trial versions for co pilot 7 and co pilot 8 ?

Can V8 work with some high level detail switched off eg IGO8 will run on lower powered PDAs with the detail set to medium or low. which is fine for me. is there a specialist forum dealing with PDAs?

I feel a wee guilty not paying as it's been priced so keenly.

I like to buy software/services from suppliers who price keenly and er... "avoid" those who don't.

I just bought a legit copy of WIndows 7 for my son because as a student he is entitled to a copy of Windows 7 home premium or business for £30.

But your suggestion is a good one, get a "trial version" from the usual places and buy it if it works. If I buy it I get free updates which in my job is well worth it.

Save the map to the sdcard/copilot/save folder switch copilot off and then on and it will install. I have instaleld it on my htc hero

Sillymeidontno, what OS are you running on your HTC Hero? if it's WM5 or above then thats OK as it's supposed to run on WM5 But if it's WM2003 then I'm gonna have a go.
