hi would be possible to pick c band up with a 1.2 prime focus dish I can get from 42 east to 60 west what are the strongest satllites for c band

Hi Simon, Yes, C band on a 1.2 is quite do-able, I started with a 1.2m Precision, I fabricated some support brackets to hold an ESC241 LNB and scaler at the correct distance. From memory these are the sats I could get on the 1.2, maybe only a single channel or two on each one though. 5W was the busiest one at the time, 20E might be stronger now?

im thinking of getting the new univercial combined ku band for my 1.2 prim focus dish do u think that will do the trick

I wouldn't bother, I've never seen a report about C/Ku combined LNBs that doesn't say the Ku part isn't crap. C Band works OK on them but Ku is rubbish. If you had a larger dish I'd say bolt two LNBs next to each other with Ku cented on the focal point but with such a small dish you really need as much performance as you can manage. I'd fabricate new support arms and give each LNB it's own mount and feed to make changeover as quick as possible.
