BT Home hub

The Neighbour is moving and has given me his bt home hub thingy, Are they any good for anything ? I have a netgear router myself just thought I might swop it if it had a better range.

Can they be tweaked to use other services or do you have to have bt broad band ?

There are hacks to unlock the home hub. I've not seen any on DW though.

Hummm I'll have a look, do you think it would be worth while doing ? Or is the hub not upto much anyways.

If your on BT, then the home hub is great, free phone etc on the weekends.

If your not, then its just another wireless router with a built in print server. I dont know if the handset can be unlocked as it were for other services. But you would loose the ability to use it with your landline.
