Does anyone else get the feeling that the US government has heaped the crap on this disaster to enable the takeover of BP by an American company? When the papers reported that the Obama administration had greenlighted the go-ahead for Exxon to initiate a takeover bid it completely hit home that that's what they had intended from the start. Really annoying me at the moment. It's like "you bad people, you must pay, you will pay. We're not interested in the fact that American people and American contractors were the people running the rig that caused the death and devistation. BP are at fault, you are bad and evil ----------------share price collapse---------------------- and, o.k. Exxon, you can launch a takeover bid.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Yeah I've been feeling that something fishy's been going on too

AFAIK Exxon will need approval from EU which is unlikely to happen

Don't you get the feeling that the Americans don't care about that and that it will happen anyway? It seems the only country on this planet that bows over and confirms with international law is the UK. ( except where wars are concerned )

It won't happen, share price is already recovering. Might need to sell off some assets but I can't see a takeover on the cards right now.

Aren't BP 60% owned by Yanks anyway? (Sure I've read that somewhere?)
