Phone Unlocking Black Box unlocking

I ve noticed a few little black box type gizmo's for unlocking mobiles and was wondering if anyone had any info on them or which ones to get, since i fancy having a meddle with some. I know there are codes that you can do with some, but i recently paid to get my Sony W800i unlocked, and they just used a little dongle type black box connected to a laptop.

Depends on what phones you plan to unlock really. The one that unlocked your K800 sounds like a Universal box. Unlocks Nokia (not the new ones, BB5), and Sony Ericsson (not the new ones DB2020. Sony have just managed to stop all of the boxes unlocking these versions atm). The bad news is that they are a couple of hundred pounds, and it used to cost you <> £20 for each DB2020 you unlocked.

Thanks mate, i have had a look at that site, and there are loads of different models which unlock different types. So don't know whether to bother now.

Might save me couple of hundred quid and put it towards a PS3..
