Auto-updating cards

I have recently noticed that Funcards can be programmed to AU. I bought a TIT2 card thinking that this was only way I could do a AU card. The tut for the funcard seems alot more straightforward than the TIT2 tut.
I've been out of the loop a bit on this forum as Ive been DBOX'ing and DREAMBOX'ing of late so is there any difference in how a Funcard and a TIT card perform as auto-update cards?

The tit cards have been out and working well quite a while, the fun AU has only just gone public so the jury is still out on it .......
