Hi there, i am trying to install winxp on my mrs aspire x3200. I boot of the xp disk and before i am prompted to press f8 to accept the terms and conditions i get the BSOD with the following code:

***STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF78D2524,0xC0000034,0x00000000,0x00000000)

Any ideas?

(I have googled it but could only find how to using a dell machine and channging RAID Auto/AHCI" to "RAID Auto/ATA, but i cannot find this option in my aspire BIOS)

Cheers,
Nick.

Just checked, there is no option in the BIOS. Thought the BIOS may need updating but cannot find an update.

Also tried that custom nlite cd, it installed and when it tried booting up it got the BSOD of death again lol.

Any ideas guys?

bsod appears cos it is not accessing the boot device due to incompatible hard drive controller

go buy a floppy drive from a computer shop and install the sata drivers by pressing f6 on install but in all honesty it should work if you have properly put the sata drivers in the xp install cd by way of slipstreaming using nlite

have u checked your slipstream xp disc to see if the sata drivers are there

i have used nlite several times when using sata controllers on laptops
