I was using Norton anti virus and then changed to AVG
the thing is when I use a newsgroup and download a keygen program AvG always say's they have a trojan virus file in it
Norton never use to find these so is it AVG reporting correctly or being over sensitive or was it just Nortin not being good enouigh

Thanks for any advice

Too true. it is a pita.
I tend to load up keygens in a seperate unprotected os and then get some keys and delete the file just in case.
I go back into my proper os and do a full virus scan. Mostly i not found any infections tho.

These are False Possitives

I found AVG to be overly aggressive on keygen. Generally if you using usenet and newzbin then people will post a comment if there is spyware/virus in the post.

If you want to be safe then setup a VM machine and download, unpack and scan in there so your main system is protected.

be careful, some keygens can be malicious, but i guess it is just oversensitiveness sometimes
