My bro-in-laws neighbours have erected a conservatory, which has a window directly facing into thier garden. These are frosted but still unpleasent to look at. The windows also have fanlight at the top that can be opened.

Adding to this they have attached the guttering of the conservatory to his brick built shed.

Is this leagal ???

complain to the local council, they will check it out

They shoudl technically of sought permission them selves from the council, they have to put frosted glass in on your side for your privacy so sounds like they have followed those guidelines.

it also depends what the size of the conservatory is

Ultimately they will have to apply for permission from you to do anything affecting any object outside of thier own boundary, did they ?, has your brother just moved in, maybe an arrangement was made with previous owners....you are entitled to compensation.........but are they really bothered about it ?....if they dont get on then go for it...it will really fire things up ;)
