Anyone ever built a crystal radio set?

I've been reading about them. They don't have any power supply?!

They get their power from the radio wave itself!?

That's crazy, lol.

when I was about 14, many years ago it was my first introduction to electronics which in later years lead me to do a HND. Its very simple to make one or you can buy a kit of ebay.

@ witchy if you can extract a cats whisker from my girlfriends moggy I will give you 50 big ones lol:banana:

Building a Crystal set (with amplifier) was one of the pre-requisites for getting onto the University course I did many years back. Those were the days when getting into university was more like a job interview. You had to sit a real interview as well as an entrance exam that included a practical session !

i used to have an electronics kit when i was about 12 which included to make, radio, lie detecter, burgaler alarm, morse code etc etc

Haha, I had one of those. The alarms worked fine but I never got the damn radio to work.

By the wayif what they say is true about the government wanting to get rid of analoohe budding crystal radio makers
