Any website experts out there!!

I've got eveything set up to go on my first ever website,what I'm stuck on is when I type in my URL it goes to my 'index of page' then i have to click on the public html folder to see the site -how can i link it to my url directly so when i enter my url my site automatically comes up without having to click on the public html folder if you know what I mean.

Rename the public.html to index.html and it will read that first....but you will need to change all your links in your site too.....

Ok i've renamed the public_html folder to' index.html ' but now all i get is :

Not Found

The requested URL / was not found on this server. any other ideas.

I just PM'ed you mate.....

the public_html was it a folder or a .html file...??

Or you can pop this into notepad

<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0; URL=http://change me to your site address/public_html/">

and save it as index.htm then upload it to the root of your site....

Or put the full contents of the public_html folder in the root of the site.
