Anybody had an immersion heater element replaced recently, just wondering about the likely cost,i know the actuall element is not expensive but would like to have an idea of the cost before i start phoning around, was going to do it myself but the old knees disagreed...lol

I bet you looking at call out fee, plus hour charge after 1st hour don't think you will see much change from £100 on the other hand you get warranty :)

depends on the fitting Tam some look easy to take apart and replace.

can you not take a picture and post

You will need a big spanner. They just screw out and back in.
You will need to drain the system down first though.

Close your stop cock and open all your taps.
Then once you have replaced it, close all your taps and open the stop cock.
Then just open each tap to bleed the air through.

mate there are enough youtube videos out there if your any good with diy. make sure you are watching the video which relates to your system as when you are draining down it may be filling itself up. if a plumber comes out he will be charging you to drain it down so you will have to pay them for sitting, if you do get someone in drain it down for them i am sure they will take that into account when pricing the job
