you should have .java files these are the java code files. these are what you edit. You can use a text editor but i would recommend eclipse or intellJ to edit the file.
How did you decompile the files? In my experience decompliing is not always possible, you may get a load of gibberush after decompiling

Oh you are trying to decompile an android app?
theyare java but they are a lot more complex to recompile cuz of all the extra things needed.
U may be able to use android studio to open. I'm not sure how hard it is. I tired a few years ago to do it and gave up after a few hours. it could of become an easier process since then. Judging by the amount of cracked apps around these day I would say it is.
