AMBIT 120 Firmware Update

I have to day done all the reading i can take on this matter and their is mixed intrest on this SUBJECT. please could someone tell me straight so i can plug in and away i go.

To stop the update happening do i do the following -

Connect a cable to the 11 and to 3.3v on the chip.

or

use a 100 MAC or a 200 MAC on a 120 and then connect. Will this be ok and not update as NTL will not know what .cw i have.

NOOOOO 100 and 120 use the same software m8 u need a 200 mac or a moto mac, watch when soldering to pin 11 its tricky and i dont even no if it works, mabe some1 can shed some light onto this?

To clarify two points -

1 if I put a 200MAC on my 120, NTL can not flash my modem TRUE / or FALSE???
I then can plug and play without fear.

2 If I solder pin 11 to 3.3v this will also prevent NTL flashing my modem TRUE / or FALSE??? If true please could someone confirm that they have done this?

and this is what i seen but dont no if it works
Im only goin by what i've read on the other forums here as im on tw myself but the firmware for the 100/120 isnt compatible with the 200 and vice versa. The firmware download is designated by the mac, so if your using a 120 with a 200 mac on it ya modem will try an download the 200 firmware which is incompatible with the 120 so the download/upgrade fails an your modem stays on its origial firmware revision

you and me mate

been at the pin eleven for hours.
Messed up three 12o's.
Got wire on pin 11 and tried several macs from about six miles away.
Don't work.
I might get connected for a few seconds then nothing.
I asumed that the pin 11 actually worked.
I got a 200 here with the tsop off but have'nt got an image to put.
If i get one first i will share it with anyone who wants.
