iPhone Activating iphone sim without a iphone

I have an Advent 4213 netbook with built in HSPA. I can insert an iphone sim with unlimited internet like this one O2 iPhone 3G Pay & Go Sim Card - FREE INTERNET AND WIFI: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics to receive the web free for 12 months. My existing sim card has just expired and I have bought a new one from ebay, the only problem is that the sim is not activated.
How do I activate the Iphone sim (I think I need to put £10credit on it) without having an Iphone handset?

I did just that a year ago, I used my K750i which did the job just fine, just need a phone on o2, suppose with internet capabilities. Tenner topup lasted until they got wise and switched them all off in March this year IIRC. Lost mi initial tenner as well, lol. But had free internet since June last year.
