If you're looking for an external hdd, you might want to look at getting something like this...

Store and play Divx/Mpeg movies, MP3 & WMA. You get a remote control too. Connect it to you PC, copy over the movie you've just downloaded, unplug it and connect it to your TV and away you go. When you've watched it, just delete it...no need to burn your movies to DVD anymore.
