iPhone 3g hanging

Hi guys.
I'm having a freeze issue with my jailbroken/unlock 3G 3.1.3.
sometimes the phone will shut down and restart after a few seconds a black screen with writing on comes up and the phone freezes on this screen. The screen is full of garbage but at the bottom it says. "Panic:- we're just hanging"
Any ideas how i can stop this from happening as it is happenning more often

tryin restoring your iphone and rejailbreak it c how that goes plus take off any apps u dont use. more apps u put on the slower your phone will go so try just keeping what u use and delete what u dont. how many games u got on it

I have done that. I have 1 game on it. Would it be that wen i updated to 3.1.3 it updated the baseband aswell. I have used fuzzyband to downgrade to 4.2.8. Is that to low
