If you are referring to the ability to flash the dvd drive, then i guess (hope) that the existing drives are used with known flaws as a way in to flash them. There is no mention of any additional security measures being implemented or any different drives being used. Couldn't be absolutely sure but I think Liteons are the latest in the range of existing drives and therefore it is likely these will be used in the new console.
It would have been nice to have a slot loading dvd drive as these are becoming more common place in pcs and consoles (wii, ps3). If the drive had been upgraded to blu-ray this would be the ultimate competition for sony's ps3.
I guess we will just have to wait until some brave sole cracks one open.
