yes but it has to be updated to 4.1/4.2 to be compatible with the latest games

Yes i was told i have to softmod it before i can update it as i need the homebrew chanel.

Can you point me in the direction of a softmod guide that will work with 3.4?

Hi mate,

Have you got homebrew installed?
If you have homebrew installed save the file from this LINK unzip it and plave in a folder called apps on the root of your memory card. Open homebrea and run the program.
Its one program that will do a virgin wii for you.

PLEASE READ THE READ ME FILE IN THE ZIP FILE.

best way update to 4.3 and do the softmod that way all you need is a mates copy off lego indiana jones it works a treat done lots this way very quick to do and safe
