20Meg trial under way !

Just visited a friend in the Preston area and noticed his download speed was 19500kbits/sec. Seems that trials have started in the Preston/Blackpool region !

Strangely, this is the area thats also running the traffic shaping trials so during peak hours you get throttled if you download at full whack for more than 20 minutes (apparently to approx 5Meg/sec for 2 hours) !

Peak hours are 4pm-midnight daily !

Do you know what the config file name is ?

afaik, the name of the config file hasn't changed - they just modified the contents to allow 20Meg down 768k up !

Also speculation that the stm trial has been turned off so no restrictions at the moment.

hmm, maybe spoke too soon !

Crawling along at 5Meg now so looks like the stm trial is still up and running - possibly they've just changed the parameters slightly.
