2 routers ?

my pal has a flat that is quite high (4 story)

and he can get access from some parts but he has no chance with most of the house with the router being on the top floor

i read somewhere you can use two routers say one at the top of the house and one at the bottom and both will work the network ?

is this possible ?

If you are talking about wireless networking, and only getting signal through part of the house, then there are two options, with linking another wireless router, either wired, or wds (wireless distribution system). Can either link the two by ethernet cable, and run them on different channels so they don't interfere, or use wds if they support it, which basically links the two of them wirelessly. (erm not used this personally, but I bet there are plenty of things to read about it out there) :)
