2 Broken PS3's 1 working ?

I have 1 YLOD 40GB system (CECHG03) which i presume has a working blu ray drive AND a machine which is not reading discs 40 GB (CECHG04)

i have tried swapping the whole drive over and it is not recognizing the disc, could i some how use parts to create an working ps3.

Any help is appreciated

what about swapping the laser instaed of the whole drive?

hello m8 you have to swop the curcuit board from 1 bul ray onto the other 1 your trying to fix ,it's peared up with the main curcuit board in the console try that and it should work ok

Got it sorted changed the board laser and mech and hey presto it works
