Whats the diffrence between 720p/1080i & 1080P, Whats best to get??

Is 1080P classed as "FULL HD" is this actully needed, is it a better picture??

Seen the Panasonic TH42PZ80 & TH42PZ85 but i really dont see any diffrence apart from a anoying silver bit at bottom

Also whats a very good LG & samsung at the min in about 42"+

1080p is the best but the question should be can you notice the difference, apparently the naked eye cannot, Sky broadcast in 1080i and I think in 2011 they will start broadcasting in 1080p, HD Ready is 720p\1080i and Full HD is 720p\1080p

I have a Panny THPX700B which is 1080i and it is stunning mate

I've just got the 40" series 5 Samsung LE40A558P3F and it's fantastic m8

There's a photo of it here.

It dosen't have a HD feed into it yet but the one on display in the shop was stunning!
It even looks good with a dvb-t signal on it. Also linked to the pc.

If you want sat HD you'll need a set that can handle 1080i for a screen around 42" m8

I = interlaced, which means that each time the TV redraws the screen it only draws half the lines. The first time it draws the even lines and the next time it draws the odd lines. It does this 50 times a second.

With a P (progressive) signal, all the lines are drawn each time.

You should notice a difference between I and P signals, I signals tend to leave spiky edges on things, especially during fast camera pans. You're less likely to notice the difference between 720p and 1080p though.
