Don't waste your money on the Twin, it is very old. If you want a TM, I'd spend a bit extra and get the 3T combo. Nano 2 Super is same price.

The Xtrend 8000 is better value for money and you get offcial OpenPLi. The Xtrend aloo takes a 3.5 drive whereas most receivers now only use 2.5 ones.

FLashing images is easy, best to experiment and use the one you like most. All the features you mentioned will work whichever image you use.

Thanks Abu

Thanks for the heads up on technomate

What do you think to the xtrend 9500 compared to 8000

In the interests of fairness here I would say the EVO Enfinity X2+ or the Venton Unibox Eco+ for a slightly cheaper alternative and either running my own ViX4E2PROJECT firmware far better match your requirements.

not heard of EVO enfinity x2 im sure its a good box but I have gone for the xtrend et 8000 will be delivered tomorrow

just found lots more info on the xtrend

seeing as you where using the 2.5" drive and installing OpenVix i would have gone for the TM-Nano-3T as it also has the option of a DVB-C/T/T2 tuner built in as well as dual satinputs

I did look at that box, but as the xtrend can take 2.5 or 3.5 sata drives and also had an option of the DVB-C/T/T2 if needed

I have just gone for the twin sat option

thanks for the info :Biggrin2:

Ive just bought a xtrend 8000 from WOS before xmas and i can tell you that you wont be dissapointed.
very easy to set up and fit an HDD.
Its a lot faster then my VU Zero...EPG loads instantly...channel change is fast and recording is faultless... and the remote is a lot more responsive than the VU.
can also stream to my android devices using transcoding for xtrend from the playstore.

thanks kryton

also ordered mine got (next day delivery) did you go for the openvix image

You mustn't mention retailers in your posts. Your thread has been edited a few times already, including the title.

did you go for the openvix image

yes mate i find it the most stable image and im use to it so setting up a new box takes no time at all
