hello, as the title suggests, I can not get mgcamd to work properly, looked thru countless posts on various forums, tried various mg.config variations but still NADA, my cccam 2.3 clears what is supposed to, but the same cant be said about mgcamd using the same entries (yes, changed N: to CWS =)

mg.cfg attached: View attachment mg.cfg.rar

That looks OK m8,

Are you sure mgcamd is running?

Also would help if you mentioned what image you have on the Twin as i ran the last 4D image Based on OpenPLI 3.0 which had both cams built in and they ran flawlessly

sorry forgot to mention the image, it was openvix 683, I did try openli, but YUK, I hate that stupid cool epg crap, TBH I think both images have pro's and cons, I think vix just has the edge with the bouquets maker lol, yes, mgcamd was set to auto-start and was deffo running.

Just flashed the box again with newer 695, installed mgcamd only and cateye, configured the mg.cfg and NADDA, restarted box, still nadda, then I found a different config, tried that and boom ??? lol stuff works, very bloody wierd, the new config looks identical, I havent finetoothcombed it yet, but it worked lol.

Been dicking around with this now for 3 bloody days lol and after I post for help it starts sodding working :D

Thanks anyway guys.

new config attached if anyone is interested lol

Wonder did you have your cfg named correctly

i.e. mg_cfg and not mg.cfg like your attached version??

yes lol, its named right, thats the copy :)

one more Q, my newcam.list, I had to add "lan" to the end of the line, to make it work, if you add more, does it have to be the same or "lan server 2" etc ? or "lan 2"

Yep the Joys of Linux your a relative newcomer i suggest you keep reading till your eyes bleed LOL

yes lol, its named right, thats the copy :)

But the copy would also be named mg_cfg unless you deliberately changed it ;)

That would be newcamd.list ;)

And I have never had the need to add lan at the end of it tbh m8 :)

The 'Lan1' and 'Lan2' are just examples your line should just end with 14 at the end and nothing else

lol, as im posting this, I added a second line and now mgcamd is not working again, its running but not working. GRRRRR

in the newcamd.list :p the examples show:

#CWS = 192.168.1.1 20000 dummy dummy 10 02 13 04 15 06 17 08 01 10 11 12 13 14 lan server1
#CWS _MULTIPLE = 192.168.1.2 20000:20005 dummy dummy 10 02 13 04 15 06 17 08 01 10 11 12 13 14 lan server2

I am using multiple, so do all lines get the "lan server **) with and increasing number or do they all get the same "lan server 2" ?

thanks Digi, my eyes are still bleeding from all the dam "what box to buy" research I did :)

yes m8, read that and yes that line is there.

it works with only one c and one n, but not with more than one in either, very strange.

tried it ending 14, yes it still works :)
added 2nd nline and it goes back to doing nothing ??? wtf lol

f*&$%ng thing lol, ok, added nline ending 14, with "no spaces between nlines" restarted enigma, it works.

TFFT, now to see if it works better than the other cam :)

I bet it bloody wont now :D

Should'nt Des Key look like this....01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14

Also should there be a # at the beginning of each line, thought that disables the line

Those are just the examples that are pre-configured when you install mgcamd, they are # to stop mgcamd trying to read them and waste time ;)

HMMM, still not working properly, looks like its only reading the first nline and ignoring the rest.
is it better to use CWS or CWS multiple ?

nope, not working either, fired up cc 2.2 and everything works fine, same lines dont work in mgcamd but they do in cc, makes no sense.

Why not use the nlines in CCcam then?

Also it shouldnt take ages, all you are doing is removing the _MULTIPLE from the lines or adding it as the case maybe

I have been since I started using CCcam, but I thought using mgcamd with the "multiple" option, would be a dam sight easier when the PW change ;)
one of them has 35 ports :O
