[TM-Twin-OE] Feedback

just check my posts on page 1 mate think Im the only poster :)

ratio switching
0 back to last viewed channel
couldn't turn over channel after online update
from memory, will need to check page 1 if there was any more

Im glad you posted Bally :) and I thank you for sharing your testing experience with us :)
.
Ratio switching is dependent on TV set I believe I am using LG LED set and noticed a problem. Give me 2 channels to test and I can report back.
Pressing 0 to go back to last channel? Well on my VU+ Duo I use the "<" button the remote and its the same on the TM-TWIN-OE but I am sure buttons can be customised from the System Menu
After Online update I have no problems with changing Channels.

btw I dont have a duo so I cant compare the twin with that box
all my comparisons are with a Dreambox SE Clone

4:3 ratio works well on SE clone :) as I said in the post on the twin I can see it change the ration while in menu but when I hit green to save and exit menus to TV its stretched again so the box in not saving the command

steptoe is on Gold now should have bars down each side so ratio is correct

Let me check that, also isnt the Dreambox SE Clone a single tuner E2 STB? Dont have the specs but not really worth comparing the two. If you want a twin tuner box IMO get VU+ Duo or TM-TWIN-OE depending on price, not aware of any others but I own both so thats all I can really say.

both E2 boxes though mate only difference is another tuner :)

should work the same

Not really, whole point of E2 open source is that it can modded and customised as much as you want. So if its not saving your settings, then clearly this is a bug which will be flagged and fixed. Whether it has been fixed yet I dont know. But I am off to check Gold too see what happens.

but some things are standard linux/enigma mate like Id say 0 for last viewed channel, even ratio switching should be standard I would think

Ok just tried Gold channel content was display correctly ie stretched to 16:9 went to A/V settings and changed display 4:3 content and it went to just scale and the image switched to 4:3 ratio and would not change back until I changed display 16:9 content to just scale also if that make sense.

Pressing 0 to go back to last channel is a bit silly imo when you can press < button

Pressing 0 on both my VU+ Duo and TWIN-OE changes to BBC one HD using your channel list.

so it did save and when you exit all menus it was still 4:3 ratio with bars down each side

I spoze its what your used too
pressing 0 goes back to the 500 maybe even DBox2, its a shortcut Ive always known of and used

:)

The 0 button can be customized to do what you want, more commonly it is used as a panic button. meaning if your watching something for example pornography and someone else walks into the room, you hit 0 and it instantly switches to your preset panic channel for example BBC1 or BBC News, or what ever you choose to set it as.

Yes for me it saves to just scale if thats what I want it on. After exiting.

Yep your right, it is what your used to but why press 0 when you can press the back button "<"

Thanks for confirming I was sure that was the case.

that makes sense then didnt notice tbh if 0 took me to the same channel all the time
but now makes sense :)

Also just to clear a few things up here. the IQ team did not just build their image from the OpenViX git but they also had direct access to some of our beta images. This is why the image is so similar to our own. I cant really say any more about it that that.

like I explained 0 was the key that was pressed many years ago to view last channel
I see now the 0 button has been used for choosing 1 particular channel for other reasons :)

well 4:3 deffo dont save for me :( Im on the 12th I think it is
its packed away now so I cant check, but mate I take your word its on par with a duo as you have tested and own both boxes :)
it seems I could of had a bad download or something maybe ??
who knows lol

I will double check this again just let me know what you want again, you want Gold to be displayed with black bars and saved like that? I have everything set to Just Scale for both 4:3 and 16:9 content

I want it to switch between 16:9 and 4:3 mate
so say if on BBC1 it will be widescreen 16:9
if on say Gold and its showing a old programme like Steptoe it will switch to 4:3 how it was originally shot, but not all Gold programmes are 4:3

:)

Isnt that done by auto resolution plugin? Guess wont be able to test unless I sit there and watch gold and wait for programme to switch from one to another?
