I'm looking for a new Rx probably want to buy a TM-Nano 2 Super.
I generally watch Nilesat, but next weekend I'm going to try to get Badr as well.
I'm trying to find out what functions/features each image has, but I don't where to start looking.

Could anyone help please.

The core functions are the same whichever image you use. You don't have much choice of image with the Technomate range of receivers.

Best to try the images and find out for yourself.

ASA Abu Baniaz,
Thanks for the info, I'm actually trying to decide what Receiver to buy and get an understanding of the technology as I've never used a software based receiver before.

What receivers have the best range of various images? My wife is Egyptian so we watch Nilesat (a challenge from Lancashire) and I'm hoping to get my new positioner set up at the weekend and I'm going to try for Badr as well, God willing! So I'll probably be looking for something that gives me maximum functionality for the Arabic channels;).

Best wishes and thanks Riqaq (Abu Islam)

All receivers have software. A washing machine does too.

The Vu range is probably the most supported range.

Whatever receiver you get, get a recent one with a 7356 CPU. I have a TM 3T Combo (among others) it has been quite reliable.

Thanks,
So the TM 3T Combo is pretty reliable. I've read that the Technomate Receivers are quite sensitive, on Nilesat I need to pull out what signal I can.

I've not seen a site that publishes Signal to Noise Ratios for receivers. How does the TM compare with your other receivers for sensitivity?, or don't you use fringe signals?

I don't really need the terrestrial functionality, but if there isn't a well supported twin rx out there the 3rd tuner can sit idle. (VUs look a bit expensive, and I've not seen a review that gives a reason for the extra money yet).
Best wishes and thanks Riqaq (Abu Islam)
