Hi all
I have some old clients who decided to go to buy on their own linux receivers and they choose tm800hd (there receivers looks like 1-2 years old, maybe more)
now the receivers are a bit funny, as in:
- fan spinning out of control then stops completely. I had to reboot the box several times until the fan started again.

- hdmi port working on and off. one client connected his box to a hdmi splitter and after a week or so the box stopped any image on hdmi port, all other ports works fine (scart, composite, etc). now that box sometimes starts the image on hdmi out but after gets to Boot100%, the tv says "no signal" on that specific hdmi port. I have tried my VU+UNO on that post and works fine, I have changed hdmi leads, box still does the same

- channel list lost and then regain with simple power off-power on from the back. no apparent reason for all this, but repeated it many times completely random. but is does it even with scanned services

- motor H-H not moving, specifically with TM rotor metal gear (that is what client has and I took it down for testes). STAB seems ok at my house, with same length of cable, or even better cable as in CT125 (the stab rotor is on front of my house, the HH rotor I have checked at the dish in garden, but both receivers, tm800hd and vu+uno worked the stab, only tm800hd didn't moved HH)

I went to Technomate and they said it needed some hardware update, they done it and charged me, after I got the receivers back they still do the same only not as often as before. I called them and they said it must be software image and I need to try various images until I get it all working

as I haven't worked with this before, I don't know what to do next
shall I recommend new receivers to my clients? or shall I keep trying until I get a image working without problems?

many thanks

Hi Manic01
thx for quick reply

I read a lot about them, not only here, and my general feeling it was that even from Technomate itself there is no support at all
they were trying to sell me some tm-oem boxes or something like that, they were saying that there are better than vu+ uno duo, solo, etc

now, to be honest, I always had dreambox, starting from dm7000 blue screen (on front of the box) and going to dm7025. then dm800hd become cloned and a friend of mine bought a vu+duo (the first that came out with white remote), and since then I went to vu+

my clients had tm5400 or tm5600 receivers with stab motorized dishes (triax 1.1m) (or with jack motors and channel master 1.4m), but as I was away in country, they had other installers and the stab got replaced with tm metal gear HH motor, and their tm5400 or 5600 got replaced with this tm800hd

now they came back to me to try to fix this and now I have to tell them that these receivers are no good and they have to buy new ones
that will be a thrill for them :)) [not]

many thanks

Yup..unfortunately they have purchased a rubbish reciever in the TM800HD... Best option is to get rid and purchase a different reciever.
Cant go wrong with VU or DMM for Linux Enigma 2, they are the 2 best most reliable brands with a good track history. The newer TM linux recievers are supposed to be better, personally I have no experience of them. But I would still rather have a VU or DMM any day of the week .. A DMM clone even the old Dm800HD is superior to a TM800, a DM800SE clone is vastly superior..

why the f**k is this still hear???????????????????????????????????:NoNo: tm800 is shit and this has been the frist site to say it so why is it still got this??????????????????????????????????

it all depends on what you want your reciever to do. I have had mine for nearly 2 years and never had a problem other than the slight sync issue. I thought about the VU+solo but then what its going to give me other than what i have now, i watch HD channels from 28 to 30 west, great me cause i,m not into anything else the machine offers, just watch TV

I just asked a simple question, I don't do many linux boxes now days
I don't quite understand you question, slyboxhd

Hi forest01

this receivers were running motorized dishes and they started to act strangely
what image do you have on yours? when is it dated? where did you get it from?
sync issues was the last of the issues this receivers had, as I stated in my first post, they started to do a lot of play up
I suppose my clients wanted the same, just to watch hd channels but now they didn't work at all or almost at all

maybe you had a better hardware version, or maybe they had done something, like software update (the technomate guys told me that if they had done that, the processor speed will be gone up to 400 and that will kill the old hardware)
but now the hardware is suppose to be new or maybe refurb, but in any care is suppose to be capable of taking new software without a problem
but that is not the case

anyway, after all this reading done, my general feeling is that these receivers no good and I have to explain this to my clients
luckily it wasn't me who sold this to them so therefore I have no responsibility to them

many thanks

Being shit, does not solve our problem.
Technomate itself as a company, is shit.
I am angry with them, I have sent many mail and I got no answer!
So Technomate company is the shit!

what hardware upgrade did they charge you for ? they will hate me rearing my ugly head again :) Im there worst nightmare ;)
