TM800-DWiQ-03-07-11

Based on the iQ release dated 24-06-11

Contains:
1-Cool EPG
2-Auto EPG importer
3-Latest rytec EPC sources
4-EPG search
5-Zap history browser
6-Updated Web Interface
7-digidudes customiser
8-digidudes advanced plugin
9-***Network mounts fixed***
10-***Rear USB mapping fixed***
11-***Picon paths to USB fixed***
12-Zap times hugely improved*
13-MD5: 2997e3cda1fac80324944ebe9b142a67
14- With all of the above installed, still start with over 5Mb free memory

*Zap times can be delayed greatly if picons are stored on HDD instead of USB flash memory as the HDD has to spun upto read the channels picon prior to zapping channel, this adds around 3 seconds to some zap times

Christ on a bike!" Can this be true ;)

if you look at the ast 2 or 3 DW branded releases, they have all been zipped and had MD5 attached in the writeups

you ask, we listen, we deliver

:)

Holy moly looking forward to this one thanks Digi

Digidude, I just went to put this image on and it green screened, after the dw logo appeared it just went to green then black green etc, I had the allsats image on before the flash and when I went to full factory reset it did nothing at all so went ahead with the flash.

put it on all went fine although it didn't want to save Gateway in network settings for some reason ? after a re flash all was OK and it saved fine

things Id like to see set as default
Fast Channel Zap= No
Change Bouquets In Quickzap= Yes

Hard Disk
HDD Standby set to 30 seconds or 1 minute, doesn't need to spin for default 5 minutes

not tested anything else yet like recording or audio levels

just checked MTV channels and it still dont save audio to ENG, change audio, change channel, go back to the channel you changed audio and its gone back to no or wrong audio (this is not a DW Image problem same on iQ)

cheers for the release :)

I just realised its based on 24/6/11 iQ image so those things wont work lol :slaps: :blushing:

Thanks Digi love the fact that all the plugins are there ready for use, makes it a very user friendly image.

this is what i try to achieve m8. some people who work with this sort of thing i have massive respect for, and over the last 18 months or so, have taught me loads, osbourne82, ellie1998, jimux, joypad to name just a few from DW, most of the team behind the andromeda image taught me a hell of a lot in the time i had with them, silverfox from the vix team, and im sure theres others (sorry if ive not mentioned you) as well as google, and numerous 'for dummies' guides that live next to the bog along with my copies of beautifull sheep and my beano annual.

but, while i dont really watch tv, messing about with things like this is what i enjoy, and to make it easier for the end users who do watch tv, as well as getting shot of all the generic crap, and making the image unique (did anyone notice that all the way through the wizard, it never once calls the receiver 'your linuxbox' ;)) i have the time, and patience to sit and try and try and try things over and over untill they work. this morning before uploading this image, ive actually got a 16G memory stick with 28 images on that i compiled this morning trying (and failing) to change on small thing

but what i do to an image (except for the little things like the DigitalWorldz in the front display and DW team) can be done by installing plugins one at a time, in the right order, i think in total, theres about 13 extra plugins installed compared to a basic iQ image, then a lot of the crap taken out, i think that running the cleaner on this image only gains you just over 1% of space

but since this morning, i have found a way to free up at least another 3.6Mb, which is about 5.5%, which should mean that this image could run with about 18% (11Mb) free space in its current state

im still learning as i go along, but im glad people enjoy it :)

Fair play to you a lot of work, what you have done with this image is it not possible for the IQ team to now use that as the base image to build on ie fixing media player streaming etc as would it not be true that if they release another image you will have to do it all again.

I much prefer when things are pre installed too :) everything is running sweet at the moment too :)

my earlier post about things Id like to see set default wasn't a moan just like you said easier for the end user :)

i know streaming is a huge thing to sort m8, and my honest thoughts are that when it does get fixed, itll also fook up a lot of other stuff, so from what ive heard, most other things are being sorted out first, then there will be a gap in releases, then a big release.

theres things in the DW images that have been there for ages, that were given to UR nearly a year ago that still aint implemented into the source, and from what ive been browsing through the andromeda image, it wouldnt be too hard to merge all the best bits into the source, as well as the fixes that are posted about the place that i manually put into each image i upload

ive spent the last week since having access to the new source, tracing my way through the maze that the compiling scripts follow, if you imagine a blind person with no sense of touch who knows where the start and finish are, but doesnt know the way from one to the other, thats what ive done electronically, and i was the blind person

generally, turning a UR or an iQ image into a DW one is about 5 hours work, as the way the source and compiling works, and changes you make are reversed during updating, and people who are used to working on dreambox stuff, any changes made in the 'normal' way are undone every time you compile an image. its taken me about a year to work out the little 'windows' where i can get in and change things, and they stay changed. but after this weekend, im sure i now have away of making changes once, and once only, and even after updating the source, itll just be one simple change, and then my modifications will 'bolt on' to the original source, and be included in every compile

its still gonna take me a few weeks to get it spot on, but itll also mean bigger changes can happen faster :)

Ah fook streaming is a big thing for me, ah well I suppose all good thing come to those who wait, Just one other thing digi the holy grail question, do you think there will ever be another softcam for the cable seen and if so would you go back to it, I would not as although I am only a novice this is much more fun for me even if it is somtimes heartbreaking.

ive never been involved in the cable scene m8, the valley where i live, the only cables people know of hang from the ceiling and have a bulb on the end lol

things Id like to see set as default
Fast Channel Zap= No
Change Bouquets In Quickzap= Yes

/me finishes can, cracks knuckles, and looks for some rizlas while the laptop starts to work, hard

ill upload a new image, the same as this mornings release, but hopefully with those 2 things changed

im still looking for the bit of the source that deals with hdd default spin times, what menu is it in m8, and if you change it in the menu, does it actually change the spindown times on your drive?

you know what Dude Ive never really checked if drive still spins when I change it to standby in 30 seconds
I just checked and its still spinning :(

dud no rush for the other stuff mate in the next release is fine mate :)

Hi m8s,
This is my first post on the forum. Am a newbie who recently got hold of a TM800HD. Have installed this new DW image today and out of curiosity, installed the Transformer pack. Unforutnately, the menus don't seem to align well to my 46 telly. How do I uninstall this pack and go back to the earlier settings ? Don't want to do a reflash.
Also, what's the googlemaps plugin...doesn't seem to work as I am not able to zoom out to get a visible view of the map.

Cheers.

Ok never mind the Transformer pack. I reflashed to get rid of it. Everything seems fine, except the following :

1) Cannot seem to change skins.
2) EPG Guide on Cool Guides or Multi EPG don't show all the cells filled in with values.

Any clues on how to fix this ?
