The big difference is that the 7102 has T2 support and revised hardware I presume (Digi ?)
The only thing that is really a let down for such a nice device is the poor ventilator which makes noise like hell. Sadly this is also the same for the tm5402hd.
I have mailed TM about this (
[email protected]) but they never answered my question about a possible option for free replacement as this is not normal.
It is a ver nice satellite receiver that does it job but with a pricetag way over the current devices which makes it difficult to decide... I have mentioned it before the other markets have learned and have similar satellite receivers (even sub locked receivers !)
I would choose a TM because :
- DVB T & T2
- Easy edit of channels, backup of channels
- fast zapping, but beware others are catching up
- good stable recording
- patch with cccam/newcam client support, i would not count on EMU patch support as it is not ok.
- A very wide support for different original Sub smartcard
- A very good support for devices/cards/Ci-cam to play with (if still exist) gamma, diablo, ...
- Scart, hdmi, svideo, spdif, even uhf/vhf for old tv's
- jpg, mp3 support(never use it but it's nice)
- RAW recording .ts (not encoded), you can play the recordings on yr pc
Not good :
Noisy fan
gets very hot with Sata HD inserted (2.5 or 3.5 inch)
Does not work well with every type of Sata harddisk, choose wisely
This device is really missing an original TM firmware built-in Network Samba/FTP service to access the internal Harddisk remotely.
feel free to add yr comments
