I have just brought the TM-5402 and it appears to be in Russian, has any one any idea how to reset so that I can get to the language menu. Sorry if this has been posted before , I did look first but there is so much information .

You do not say which TM5402 that you have, mk1 / mk2 or mk3.
if it is the mk3 this should help.
menu on remote,
on the left hand side, go down one step.System Settings,then arrow right,go down five steps to Factory Reset, press OK , Enter Password which should be 0000, Factory Reset Menu comes up, go down five steps to Factory reset, Press ok.

Have found a old manual,TM5402HD CI+Super.
Menu on remote,Main Menu, down one to System Settings,across right,down SIX this time,(Factory Reset Menu comes up,tab down five to (Factory Rest ) press ok, Warning Tab comes up (do you want to reset all data)under that you should have three settings in this order( yes no cancel ) choose the one to the far left.
this may sort it out for you.

Just do this
Menu
Select second option from top, press ok (More options will now be available)
Scroll down to 3rd option press ok (More options will now be available)
Firts option is language, just scroll through to you see English option
Then exit and save.

Follow what I posted above it has to work as that is correct procedure no need for factory reset.
Thanks for the response nanic01, I have found an old Post (Force Factory Re-set) by [FONT=&]Darklordsbane, turn off at the back of the set, turn back on whilst holding the front power button and now I have the first language menu, I guess this is a hard reset and has removed the previous passwords to factory password (0000).
