Hello to all
I have a new tm 5402 hd c1+ super+
I would like to follow the excellent patching guide posted
By Zorch.
But before I can start I need find out why this tm will only
Send picture to TV though scart and will not go through HDMI
Cable. I have gone through all different settings but no joy.
I have checked hdmi cable on an old freesat box and works fine.
Would be great if anyone could point me to a setting for hdmi that
I must have missed. Many thanks

Welcome to the forum.

I occasionally have HDMI issues when using older TV's, especially Samsungs for some reason.
When you say you've gone through settings, do you mean you've changed the output resolution? If not, try 720P, that seems to be a 'safe' one recognised by most (but not all) TV's. You could also try your 5402 on a different TV, in case you have a faulty one. I have had this with a $ky+HD box.
Is it the latest M3 model? (It will say on the front panel/card flap if it's a M2 or M3).

Thanks for reply trevortron, yes it is latest version 3.
I tried changing settings on both TV and tm box but nothing
Gets the picture through the hdmi cable.
I then disconnect tm box replace my old freesat box and that
Works fine. I am beginning to think it is perhaps just a faulty
Box. I think I will give Technomate a call on Monday see what
They have to say.
Thanks again for reply

If you get a chance, do try it on another TV.
Sadly QC doesn't seem to be as good on the M3's as it was previously. I've installed around 500 5402's in the past 3 years and have had significantly more problems with M3's. I'm not saying they are bad, it's still a very low failure rate (roughly 1 in 100), but the earlier models were (and still are) solid.

Hi trevortron,SUCCESS at last all working fine.
Trouble is I have been messing around with this all morning
and now really don't know exactly what I did to get to get
this result.
Later today I will check and make a note of all the settings
just incase it all goes wrong again.
My plan was to get this tm box and to do all patching and softcam
to it, but after my performance with just getting the tm box
working,I don't hold out much hope of doing all that loading
of those complicated files onto the tm5402. Thanks again trevortron

The tm is the easiest receiver on teh market to patch.
As for failure rates, the TM5402 M3 has only been released 21 months and I have not seen reports of this 1% failure rate anywhere.

I only report as I find. 2 DOA's, 1 failed within a week of installation. All replaced promptly by suppliers. All M3's.
I've had one M1 fail in a similar sample size (constant re-booting). I replaced that one myself, couldn't be ar*ed with the faff of returning it to UK.

Hello manic01,I shall go through this great site you
have here, to find all the info for loading phantom patch and
soft cam before I make a start. I have read a very detailed post
about patching the tm 5402 by Zorch. I think once I do a bit more
research I'll be ok to give it a try, but at the moment I don't
have a clue about patches and soft cams. But I'm sure it will
good fun trying.
