power supply board fault

My mate has a tm5402hd first edition and the box failed the other day as in the power supply board.
There is a 7 pin power control I.C that seems to have exploded and I'm wondering if I should replace the I.C and hope for the best €12 approx cost or shell out for a replacement power board.
Any views on this anyone

They go for £40-50 for the stb on ebay.

You might as well try and repair it. In the long run it can save you money.
