30 second glitching???? How do I fix

Hi,

I have a 30 seconds glitch, it is only on sly sports / bt sports and a few other channels - I can watch sly movies no issues??

Any ideas why this would be - It is ruining my footie experience

I think that this is maybe an issue with the TM, on Sunday I was trying to watch a game on Sky Sports 1 which kept stopping, I tried changing channel to Sports 2, 3 and etc all were off, tried Sky Movies and they were all okay? I checked my c-lines and both were connected. After the match I changed channel to Canal+ Liga Campeones HD (19.2E) which kept stopping as well, tried several channels on the Canal+ satellite, all off.

I turned the TM off and back on again, which seemed to clear the problem, the rest of the game and subsequent game was relatively glitch free. It could have something to do with the ECM time, as a guide, to have the best possible connection time observe the following:
1) Use ethernet over wi-fi (or Powerline plugs) connection.
2) Try not to use the internet at the same time especially for downloading etc.
3) Turn off DHCP and assign a static IP to avoid any conflicts.
4) Only run a maximum of 2 c-lines at the same time.

Sounds like a classic case of slow pay server..Ecm times change from channel to channel thus clearing times will differ so take a look on sports etc and see what the ecm times are...and or change cam and see if any difference.

Thank you both for your responses.... I use a hard wired 50mb connection which often reaches 65mb from Virgin.... The pay server is a good friend of mine and we have checked with another user at same time and glitches are only on my machine - the fact that they eminate every 30 seconds and not randomly is the key here I think...

As I say it is only on Sky sports, strangely enough on Dave and Gold and on the discovery channels - are they all on the same transponder?

I have read somewhere about changing the settings internally on my TM5402... any idea as I didnt understand it?

I have re-wired the connection,tested and is perfect - I have bought a new tm5402 M3 upgraded from the previous version, I have changed the Cline???

What else can I do?

The only way to rule out cline is try another server..get a test line or a weeks service from someone or somewhere and see if there is any difference...
Look in the info bar and see what your ecm times are on the bad channels as I'm sure they will be high thus causing the glitching.if it's only on certain channels then it can only be the server as far as I know.

You cannot view ecm times on these stb's.
I have also had issue in the past with same stb's and line was from mates own card and not payserver.
Its an anomaly sometimes with these stb's.

So are we saying all TM 5402 even the M3's have this inherent fault? Are TM aware of this???

Remember that this problem only occurs on scrambled channels that you are not supposed to be watching, the TM box is a free to air (FTA) receiver which performs exactly as it should, it is only by flashing the box with third party firmware that enables the watching of free to view (FTV) or subscription only channels, so obviously not a TM problem.

Maybe experiment with different patches, the latest one is not necessarily the best one for everyone.

I have a couple of Openboxes which don't suffer with this issue, so it seems to be just with these boxes.

It's not a Technomate problem but a cardsharing/payserver issue.I've had a 5402 HD for over 3 years and never had problems with receiver,only issues have been with sharing!
Sly uk HD is no longer shareable and SD channels will be going down too eventually. If you're getting 30 second glitching it means either the powers to be are messing around with ecm settings( which is quite common for sly to do when the footie is on) or else whoever you're sharing with is overloading.

Sorry I disagree, as I said in my previous post, my two Openboxes don't suffer from the same problem, same c-lines etc.

Sometimes when you change channel on the TM, nothing appears, just 'scrambled', change channel again and back again and the channel appears! I have quite a few friends who also have this problem. When I change channel with the Openbox, the channel appears instantly without issues.

The TM certainly performs differently depending on each individual circumstance, for example, previously, I had c-lines from a different server, they would not play at all on the TM, glitched every few seconds, same lines in the Openboxes, rock steady.

I think we can all agree this is a weird but seemingly common(ish) issue with the TM5402.

And to make things even more weird... one on of the channels that glitch - just turned on this morning and it doesnt glitch whilst teleshopping (non encrypted) is on....

SO not a Sat position issue - which was also a thought...

And all other users on my mates server are fine - only I glitch!!!

Sorry I'm late coming in on this but just read through the thread with interest. I had exactly the same issue a few months ago whilst experimenting. I found TM and Clines a no go however works beautifully with NLines.

I have to disagree there.
The issue is normally the amount of hops on cccam.

Spot on mate..you can debate till the cows come home but thats what it is..

and to add to the Mix you also need to find a stable patch that works well with the emulators, i have seen later patches on some models create more problems than what they solve.

I have a 5402 mk 1 on my lan, had problems with glitching ever since I changed my server to oscam, I think think with cccam as client may be the problem.
