I was watching MP4 video file film via mobile hard drive connected to receiver's usb port and strangely sound went off after about one hour but video was still playing fine. Video plays back fine when connected to my PC and also on my Panasonic TV 's usb port.
I copied file to a smaller 4GB usb drive but still having same issue(sound goes off at exactly same part of film) when connected to receiver but still plays ok on PC and TV.
Any suggestions?

Oh dear, 62 views and not one reply:Cry: I guess that no one else has experienced this problem or no one uses Technomate to watch video files.
Just in case anybody is interested, I repatched receiver with latest phantom patch and tried playing a different video file and sound went off again just after an hour!

Hi mate did this problem resolve at all? I myself have just bought myself one of these boxes and a 500gb hard drive with the intention of being able to play and store a lot of movies I have downloaded from my laptop. But don't want to spend time filling up the harddrive if there is gonna be playback issues.

I think you might have hit the nail on the head there mate. I've never had any luck playing non-native files on a M1, M3 however works fine. Out of interest, have you tried playing the file on another device? It does seem strange that it should play so far and then stop- the fact that it stops at exactly the same place might suggest a prob with the file rather than the M1.....

Hi Trevorton,
It's definitely an issue with receiver.
I've got myself a new TECHNOMATE NANO -SE and all video files play fine. Great little box by the way, best £100.00 I've spent,so much faster than my old 5402 and HD picture quality is stunning.
If you can handle the leap to linux then I would recommend this little box or the new VU+ equivalent which i think is about the same price.
