Remote not working for my Technomate TM-5402 HD

Hi all,
Could someone please help me with a remote not working for my Technomate TM-5402 HD satellite receiver, is it anyway getting menu List without remote? I have read the sticky & searched the two forums suggested but found nothing.

if something got changed in your settings for the remote pressing exit 3 times on the remote should reset it back to default
or is the remote broken?
is there no menu button on your tm5402 ?

You have a 2 year Free warranty on your TM remote. Contact Technomate or your dealer and they will tell you what to do.

I had once the same problem that my remote would not work. there is a batch of faulty remotes when tm5402hd started shipping (as TM told me)
I got a new one without any problem.

Also Dr Linux got some very good info in reving your Remote. Maybe you should pm Dr linux and ask what you could do to revive yr remote.

I have a similar problem remote led flashes when pressing remote but will not change the channel have already tried the exit thing I have a spare remote it works fine and its set to 5402 remote in menu there is no way the frequency on the remote could have changed as these are not programmable

Have you tried to reflash the firmware by serial ? could be an idea, otherwhise i would think the infrared reception is broken.

I had this problem also, the remote was replaced where i purchased my Tm. 5402 m2 from,without any cost at all.

Tm. wanted postage to send remote tome and i would have had to also pay postage to return the remote to Tm.

Cant be firmware if spare remote works must be remote strange led flashes

pull the batteries from the remote for half an hour then try it again,regards mdt

Battery's have been removed for days still the same cheers

Owkay Y'r post was not clear to me. Must have read that wrong. I was thinking both remotes are ok but no response from yr TM5402hd....

Yeah well. Sometimes those remotes break down. Not very good like the old tm1000-5000-6000-7000 series. I already had 3 broken remotes tm5402hd.

Contact tm for a new remote or buy a new one

can you change sat channels on a 5402 without controls mine broken

Yes on the front of the box it has channel up/down

Another one! I've had quite a few 5402 remotes fail, sometimes they are repairable. If you can get it apart (quite a fiddle) sometimes giving the circuit board and the rubber foil a good clean restores operation. If not, they're not expensive.

Channel ok but to change the sat itself I order a new one

You must be the unluckiest TM installer in the world

Try this - remove batteries then press every button on the remote in turn, holding each one down for 3 seconds. You must press every button and then replace batteries and try it again.

Yes I see 1 dead one lol in 3 pieces.
I personally have 3 tm5402 and 4 remotes

All work lol, then again none have been misused.
