This might be useful
for who can use the 7epg on astra 28.2 east channels like the
6000+7000 super series +5402
scan trp. 11.777 v 27.500 any tv channel on this transponder, will load the 7-epg on your stb ,go into epg mode on one of those channels and within a minute the epg will populate on almost all channels.(leave for a few minutes to get full)
for a fast 12 hr epg .scan. trp.11.469 h 27.500
go on any channel on this transponder go into epg mode and within 20seconds you will have 12 hrs epg on allmost all channels.
I renamed one channel "7-epg" and the other "fast-epg"
so no need to go into your radio channels
I was hoping to find a full-info load channel but no joy

memory on the non supers is too small to make this work you would have no softcams working then
had the 6900 non super myself but upgraded to the 6902 it's a good upgrade i have to say

Has anyone found that this "kills" all the BBC/ITV HD channels after use ?
i.e. all the non-HD channels have vision/audio but the HD channels although showing a good signal, show nothing.
Rebooting the machine solves this but obviously the 7 day EPG is lost.
Refreshing the EPG in the normal way by "clicking" on each channel does not cause this problem

N.B. This was after adding Phantompatch-TM6800HDSuper_741p-27-05-2011.stb

Process to reproduce as follows :-

1/ Add patch
2/ Scan 11777 27500 V
3/ Add (I think) channel "8020" to Favourites ("Chris")
4/ Rename "8020" to "EPG"
5/ In "epg mode" select channel "EPG" from list and view/listen - Sky propaganda etc
6/ Return to "epg mode" and watch programme guide being refreshed.
7/ Select in turn BBC1 HD, BBC HD, ITV1 HD, Channel4 HD - all channels show good signal/quality strength 95%/83% but "No Audio/Video"
8/ Select in turn BBC2, ITV1+1 etc - all these non-HD channels show normally.
9/ Place 6800HD Super into Standby
10/ Reboot
11/ All HD channels show correctly but ............... no 7 day EPG
12/ "Normal" EPG can be refeshed by selecting each channel in turn.

if you use the 7-day epg load on a normal tv channel like i say in the first post and not on the radio channel there is no killing of any channel
and make sure you load new patch by the correct procedure as stated many times in many post
1)back up channel list
2)factory reset
3)load original technomate firmware
4)factory reset
5)load latest patch (after this you could load latest addon but if you did before it will still be there)
6)factory reset
7)put back channellist and rescan all channels in use
i never had any problems using the 7-day epg loaded from the tv channel and using the latest patch after 7-day epg is loaded all channels work perfect hd +sd and when you click in epg on any channel you get full info on now and next again and the 7-day epg remains
i have to say that the fast epg in post one does not load anymore.

Well it was a TV channel I loaded - not a radio one because I was viewing info from Sky about installing their set top boxes.
I loaded the patch via the USB using what I assumed to be an install procedure i.e using the USB > File (menu options)

you will have to make sure you do factory resets and load original firware in between or bits of old patches will remain in your tm and this will cause problems try it with the procedure i just posted there for you wich would be the correct procedure for loading patches and see if you still have killed channels after that.
you will find original firmware in the downloads section of technomate.uk website.

What is the best way to back up the channels and will it include Favourites as well ?
Do I have to worry about my motorised dish settings - not sure if these are "saved" in the motor itself or are part of the receiver data ?

no everything will be saved just not the audiolevel you might have to change them again after factory reset
goto menu>usb>data transfer>upload channel data and your channel data list will be created in seconds when you want to put your list back into your tm just click on this file it will ask default or normal load the list back on normal

if you load to default, then after a factory reset, or if channel data is lost during patching, this will become the new default channel setup

Followed your instructions to the letter ! (Thank you) and my HD channels worked OK after EPG refresh with the phantompatch installed. BUT my PVR has stopped working. None of the the old "recordings" playback and it wouldn't record either !
Backed out the phantom patch and it's working again !
Any ideas ?

If you put back on/turn on phanth0m patch is it still working now? cause sometimes after patching you will have to wait a while longer before your harddrive is ready again and you might have to go into your disk manager menu to select the drive again or switch the tm completly off at the back
try all these things for now if you still have problems with it after that you might start a new thread in the normal thread section and we all will try to help but it has nothing to do with your 7-day epg any more glad that's working fine for you now and i think it's a great feature

if you want to load the full 7-day epg for freesat uk channels on 28.2 east you can go to any of the freesat channels and press epg while staying in epg mode press the info button and you will see the progress the epg loading is making i have to say it's a very slow process and it can take up to 15 minutes or more before all days are loaded into the epg for one transponder/frequencie but it might be helpfull if you need the full info
maybe phanth0m might find a way to speed this up.

After loading the phantompatch do you have to activate it with keystrokes from the remote control or is it automatically activated?

ativate what ? no activation needed, i'm asuming the 7day epg have a read of the first post of this thread

activate the phantompatch, thats what, ie does the patch need enabling and can it be disabled by keystrokes on the remote control?
