Theres threads about this box in the technomate standard recievers forum, as it's closed source non-linux, will only be the manufacturers standard image available.

instead of actual images, the 5402 has 'patches' third party firmware based upon the original receivers firmware, but with added extras

the patch installs things like youtube viewer, google maps, internet radio streamer, divx player and a few other things

there is then also an 'addon' patch, this installs cccam and newcamd protocol client software, complete with boxkey menu for official cards, and a cccam filter

cccam works with all cccam server versions, so no messing around trying to find a server running a specific version to ensure you can connect to it properly

I think it's fair to say that youtube viewer, although installed on latest patch is not connecting as yet. There is allegedly a fix for this from Technomate coming soon:Clap:

ive watched quite a few videos on youtube, i tested it for a few days prior to the public release, and for a couple of days afterwards, unless something has changed with the way youtube allows devices to access it, it was working fine

jimi, what form of install guide are you looking for m8? a guide to patching?

Re: TYoutube TM5402HD

Hi Digi,

I can confirm Youtube worked in the beginning like you mentioned but now it gives a server error connect. (since 1 week) All other services work OK (weather/ radio/maps)

GUIDES :

I Think he needs an original PDF guide ?
Also I do not know if I can post this in the same thread But Technomate should really start providing other languages Guides.
Yeah I know Dutch is not standard but well a lot of dutch people buy technomate over here (belgium/netherlands)
Or maybe some downloadable PDF on their Site ?

gap in the market there for you to fill m8, im sure technomate would like to sell more receivers in other countries, and paying someone to translate their manuals, especially if they have technical knowledge of the receivers, would be a step towards achieving that

contact them offering it (at a price) and see what they say, i would, but everyone who speaks welsh also speaks english

Thanks digi, but what i really want to know is, will it perform in the same manner as the tm800hd because at the end of the day the viewing is whats important, can i watch all packages in the same way via C:line etc

as its not a linux receiver, its a LOT more stable than the TM800 m8. and you can view in exactly the same way. You patch the box, patch with the 'addon', load a channel list and enter your C: line server details, all can be done via usb, and youre done.

if you already have the files on a mamory stick (the server details will need editing into a text file, oryoucan enter manually via remote) youcan go from unwrapping the receiver, to viewing, in about 3 minutes

@digidude I was looking for a setup guide but worked it out and all is working fine. I'm using the softkeys and cccam, no problems, thanks to all.

Hi mate do you still connect it through the ethernet port? could you please post the way in which you set it up if you don't mind of course, finally is there a download load section to pick up these softkeys?

Thanks mate

Yes you connect using the Ethernet port, after installing the patch 109 you simply go into menu and enter your server details then connect to your router and set the IP function to Auto reboot the receiver and all should work.
There is a key maker in the software posts.
