Being the type of person that never gives up, after the previous problems with the 109 patch have decided to try again, so reinstalled the 109 patch a couple of days ago and so far everything is working OK.

No loss of the hdmi video so far.

Well done. Don't spend too much time trying to connect to "youtube" it don't work on phantom or official patch. A guy at Technomate told me a new patch would be available on their website yesterday afternoon to remidy this, but guess what nothing there this morning!

Funny enough utube is one place I can live without now if that was Iplayer that would be different.

This is an interesting thread as I think it was Friday my TM5402 arrived and I installed the patch and softkey all worked well through the HDMI socket.
I switched it off while I did something on my Spiderbox and when I switched it on again "no picture" from the HDMI.
All was ok via the SCART connection, after a little while I found switching the screen mode to auto restored the HDMI output.

Good tip that will need to remember that if it happens again and try it thanks jimihendrix, it's things like this that we forget about and are so simple a cure.
In my case it's old age and the all diminishing brain cells.

Hi Jimi, still using spiderbox then!
got rid of mine on fleabay a few weeks ago, cccam issues and constant disconnection was doing my head in:Angryfire
Technomate 5402 HD is much, much more stable, wish I'd bought it a lot earlier:Clap:

I have used the Spiderbox 9000 and the TM5402 side by side and can find little difference between them.

Early days yet as I've only had the TM since last Friday so I will have to continue until I get a result either way, I really must say for the use I've had from my Spiderbox I cant complain.

Perhaps I was a little too harsh with comments about Spiderbox. I had a 7000HD for nearly a year which for the price was good value, but cccam was pants compare to Technomate which is what I mainly use for general viewing.
Every time I posted on issues with cccam on the well known "Hail The Darkman"forum, I got fobbed off with the usual "it's not spiderbox issue, it's your internet connection, your router etc.......
Well, I 've had Technomate for nearly a month now, running on exactly same set up as before and not had one disconnection yet:Clap:

I dont have a 7000 so really cant answer as to why you had that problem, I use my Spiderbox 9000 combo on both Service+ and also with the same line I use in my TM5402 (never at the same time).
Now my cousin in Clacton has two sons one of them bought a 7000 on Ebay (who knows might have been yours?) the other I got a 9000 for.
Both are using lines from the same server and neither have complained so far (believe me they would have done as they are both football mad).
I did install both receivers and patch both for them, I will give them both a call to see if they notice any differences in operation as in this case it would have to be down to the receivers as they are on the same exchange, use the same server (not sure their ISP's are the same though).
I'll let you know what they say.

I've got both sat side by side and have to agree and come to the same conclusion the 5402 is great with cccam the spiderbox isn't.

Hi Jimi,I was privately messaged on "Darkman's forum" over period of time by quite a few unbiased members that Spiderbox was only stable on cccam 2.1.1, so would be interested on feedback from your cousins.
Apart from cccam,I have also found channel change especially on HD channels to be much quicker on 5402 HD, it also runs as cool as a cucumber compared to Spiderbox which always ran hot even on open cabinet.

I use normally 2.1.1 as this is what the server uses but I did test on 2.1.4 last week and it was about the same.
I've not really had the TM that long so as yet cant answer your other points, but I will when I give it a prolonged test.

I have been using the new tm5402HD for a while now and I must admit that it is working very very very good. (original firmware & Patched firmware)

CCcam is working very good and 100% stable .(as a client)
I have tested with all versions of CCcamserver 2.1.4 and higher.
TM5402HD works with all versions. It even opens up channels faster when using latest version of CCcam Server.

I have never tested a spiderbox so I cannot give any info about that
All that I know is : Leave that 'Dark' Board, they are only interested in selling.
If you happen to know interesting info or even dare to post some feedback on the 'Dark' Board you get kicked/banned whatever. The 'Dark' Board has plunged into a deep dark dark hole the day they thought to force satgear upon People ... "SOme quotes of Darky the man" (mostly poor english)
Smartcards are bad, diablocam - duolabs is bad - Technomate is bad - No discussion on cardsharing - no discussion on SSSP - I can sum up a whole list and so on.... Djeez freeking idiots.... over there

You're 101% correct mate:Clap:

not all of them m8, JH to name one. we all know who the tits are on there but its a shame as there are a few guys over there who are decent guys who will help anybody. regards mdt

Well thanks a lot!! why do I waste my time?

Apologies to you Jimi Hendrix if I have offended you personally, that was not my intention at all mate.
I am really miffed with that forum because moderators kept telling me there was a problem with my set up and all the time Spiderbox was the issue with cccam.
I bought quite a lot of satellite equipment over the years via their shop, but won't be do so anymore.

Ok I understand your problem with the other forum, now to be honest I've had very few problems with my 9000 combo and I've used it with CCCam 2.1.1 and 2.1.4. I will admit that the 5000SD software was a little slow as far as CCCam was concerned. Tomorrow I have a spare day and will setup my TM again and finish my channels list then I will use it exclusively to see if there is any difference with the line I use.
Again sorry if you had rough treatment over there but please believe there are some really good moderators on that site, just lately with Service+ going down the work load has been several times what is was so patience does get frayed a bit, more so when the same question is asked over and over.
Just today a member asked "where has his Service+ gone" as if he's only just noticed a great chunk of his channels are missing, and we do get a lot of "stirrers" who just post to provoke other members into asking whats going on.
Still never mind it'll be back soon and we can all forget it.
