this is the second time now that i have found that the add-on file isnt being wiped when new firmware is added... ok this is handy when using patched firmware but surely when reverting back to official fta firmware all 3rd party additions like add-on details, softcams, emulator menu,s should be wiped off. ok if you flash fta firmware it does remove the emu/b*** function but then after flashing the patched firmware later on it still holds all relevent csinfo data from the previous patch. surely this is wrong and shouldnt be happening? this is the second stb ive noticed this on as it did it on my TM6800HD super+ and now on my TM5302HD. this isnt a real biggie to me but i feel a warning should be issued to members just in case they sell a stb or whatever as there private details will remain on the stb to appear again when 3rd party software is re-applied at a later stage. just food for thought for us TMfanboys:proud: regards mdt

A major flaw. Is it the same with

Factory reset.
Flash firmware
Factory reset again.

yes m8

1. factory re-set patched firmware, switch off/on at back
2. flash fta firmware
3. factory re-set, switch off/on at back
4. flash patched firmware
5. factory re-set, switch off/on at back
6. load channel list,usals,softcam

ive tried it 3 different times with the last 3 patched firmwares and the last official firmware from TM site, regards mdt

Couldn't this problem be eliminated by performing a FACTORY RESET on the TM-6800 HD / TM-5302 HD from the LOADER MENU which can be accessed whilst booting-up the receiver...?

Switch the receiver OFF using the power switch on the rear of the receiver

Press and hold down the MENU BUTTON on the front of the TM-6800 HD / TM-5302 HD as you switch the receiver back ON using the power switch on the rear of the receiver

The LOADER MENU appears on-screen

Select the FACTORY RESET option

Due to the fact that this is a HIDDEN program... shouldn't this FACTORY RESET on the boot-up LOADER MENU enable the user to perform a COMPLETE RESET of the system... wiping EVERYTHING that had previously been applied to the receiver...?

I hope this helps...

Best Wishes,
Zorch

The only solution for this is to load a Blank ADDON file after you flash a patched firmware then flash official firmware and then patched again and the 8281 function is Blank.

Not a great solution but at least it protects sensitive information if you sell on or return for warranty purposes
