5302 help b4 its binned!

pls can some1 explain the key edit on 5302. i have latest ex bulsat keys inputted in box...latest is key 04 so i entered 02 plus 16 dgts then 52 plus 16 dgts along with provider 060400 and nothing opens. im on latest 30/4/2013 patch.... as for biss keys ive no idea? pls help a newbie... some1 must be getting the best of this box. also does any1 have an epg 12hr or 7 day on this box.ive left it 24 hrs on 11.778 and only a few programs update....think i should a got 5402!

try the other slots but if it still wont work then load a softcam via usb,regards mdt

tx mate i have added empty lines no luck...any softcam link u know of that works and do i delete all keys uploaded by box first? never done this b4 do u have any inpit on epg pls

heres the link to the softcam https://www.digitalworldz.co.uk/index.php?threads/253293/#post2278065 but i havent got a clue about the epg but i think you just go into the menu and download it. biss keys need entering while on the channel in question then save and exit. you are correct you should have chosen the tm5402hd.regards mdt

ty i agree 5402 much easier... i will try biss again. do u recommend i delete all keys in box b4 uploading softcam?

its up to you but the softcam overwrites them anyway,regards mdt

I think that it would be especially helpful for you to read through all of the relevant threads/posts started by/made by my friend Merliin ...he's been trying for absolutely ages to get the TM 5302 HD problems sorted out by both Technomate & Phant0m ...and he (very admirably) details most/all of the problems associated with this receiver... his reports are both accurate and explained in great detail... and he also offers some 'workarounds' for this troubled receiver...

The latest Phant0m patch April 30th for the TM5302HD is useless nothing works Blind Scan is terrible,

So in an effort to help Technomate overcome these problems I have just tested the Official software issued 30th April 2013,

1/Blind Scan missing 50% of active transponders on all satellites scanned for example 28.5 east 12500 to 12750 there are 8 commercial tv transponders only 7 are active atm but the TM5302HD can only find 4 of the 7 (only 4 of the 8 when all 8 are active)

2/Blind Scan:- when selecting fta only (Blind Scan includes all including encrypted channels) same result with a normal scan Free To Air scan is not operational with this software,

3/Naming channels when renaming channels after a normal or blind scan the name reverts back to the previous code such as CH-3010 for TV8 Mont Blanc on Eutelsat 33A,

4/You Tube not working with this software,

Previous problems now solved with with this software
PVR working ok on manual record & playback
Blind Scan now completes set scans without faulting but still misses 50% of active with e transponders
DiSEqC USALS working ok,
Good picture with all free to air channels via HDMI connections.

Additional info:

With the Phant0m enhanced software for April 30th unable to update keys via USB or via the Ethernet,

Blind Scan crashes 1/2 way through a Blind Scan & does not always complete also unable to complete a Horizontal & Vertical Blind scan this is a direct result of the Phant0ms enhanced software as this does not happen with the official software just misses 50% of active transponders with both the Phant0m & Official software all versions issued so far do not work,

So my conclusion is that the current Phant0m patch does more harm than good as the CAS does not work there is little point in this software issue,

No wonder some outlets no longer stock the TM5302HD as a very high % must have either been returned to TM or thrown out of the window.

i didnt realise that the TM5302HD was that shocking although i knew it had bugs... thanks for your report on this reciever. how can the TM5402HD be so good and TM make such a balls up with the TM5302HD? regards mdt

Yes it really is that bad the original hardware is flawed but it does have the potential of being a good receiver with some re written software & maybe a re issue of this receiver,

The TM5402HD is good but has a fault in the Hardware with the blind scan finding 45,000 s/r when a low symbol rate is in use & to make matters worse rather than sort out the fault they have used the same Hardware for the Dr HD D15, Blade 7000s & all Hubtech clones of this receiver very sad,

They even brought out the M2 & F16 versions with the same fault despite myself & several other owners of these receivers making them aware of these software/hardware errors,

They do not seem to care about the quality of these products these days just aiming to produce a receiver for under £99 & joe public will swallow the pointless software upgrades.

Searching for help and merlin ty for your hard work in analysing all these problems . Is there any patch you recommend on 5302 for keys and scans until I can afford to get a 5402? I would love even a epg or is that to much to ask!

Return your 5302 hd. to Tm. See if they will upgrade you free of charge to the 5402 hd m2.

Tm. are well aware of the problems, issues which are well documented here and other places.

Some peeps here have tested extensively in a professional manner and reported their findings directly to tm. about this Stb.

Why should you lose out when clearly this Stb has serious problems and Tm know it. jamsb.

Contact Technomate on 020 8884 0701 & request a return of the TM5302HD for either a refund from your supplier or a swap for the TM5402HD you do not have to keep a faulty product make sure you load the official software before you return the receiver:-

Sounds like a good plan merliin, but are we absolutely sure that the 5402HD is actually that much better on the latest patches etc?:drink:

Patch 1.12p is as good as it gets for the TM5402HD issued 11-10-2011

The PVR works ok & blind scan is as good as it gets with the 45,000 s/r glitch in the hardware,

The latest enhanced patches by the Phant0m are not of a standard that I would recommend owners of the TM5402HD to be bothered with as they are not compiled by persons knowledgeable of this software hence the high failure mode of these latest so called upgrades,

Lets hope that someone in the not to distant future makes a satellite receiver that us enthusiasts can rely on to find all the activity in the Ku band.

Not asking much is it ? well it is not rocket science as all the software is well established all someone has to do is build a satellite receiver that will work without these current problems.

Its a case of when something gets patched to incorporate the new thing then older stuff gets borked in the process, as you say the older patch is probably the better choice but the from a softcam side of it you miss out on the few channels on 23.5° east that was enabled in the later patches.

Its catch 22 with either the 5302 or 5402 there are no winners

Good News the latest software for the TM5302HD issued May 24th works much better than anything previously issued well done Technomate.

not to want to hijack this thread but with latest firmware tm5402 phantom april 2013 with autoloading firmware over the internet. How well is this firmware performing ?(blindscan, recording, emu channels, ...)

Thats good new mate - lets hope some of this is incorporated into all the new patches very soon as promised in Download Centre?
The PVR problems are still very much present present with the TM6900HD Supers too - so lets hope all this alleviates any remaining doubts on ALL the remaining TM receivers still awaiting to be addressed?
