hello guys and gals,
i hope this is not posted elsewhere. i looked but couldn't find anything so here goes. i also know that this might be old school news but there might be others out there who still use the TM500 super box(like myself), and this one is for them if they don't know already.
as the title suggests, if your box shows "no internet connection" even though it works :Mad2: but you can't download anything from the server, then updating to the latest IQ images dated TM-500s-TM-600iQ_update-110831 and the one dated 05/09/2014 (TM600UR_update.img) should fix the connection. i was using the UR image until now and it was always bugging me about not being able to download anything from the server( which btw has a new destination). the box showed "no internet connection" because it was trying to connect to the server's old connection details which were defunct, hence the error. but now it has been fixed and at least for me, i have the pleasure of knowing that there is no flaw :Drums: when i press the Lan buttion on the remote.
if this has been mentioned before, then i apologize before hand, and can the mods please remove or modify the thread as needed. but as i said before, if there were others like me out there, then at least, now they have a cure for the problem.
PS: this is not my work, and a great many thanks to the UR and IQ and any other team who was involved in sorting this issue out. i just picked up the info while searching for the answer and finally got it sorted.
very sorry for the long thread

Where can I download the image from? I have the same problem after factory resetting the box

Hi Ferret, first of all, thank you for all of your help over the last couple of days.
Next, I've uploaded the above image and the firmware is now showing as 13/12/12 but I've still got the 'no internet connection' problem and still cannot download Addons such as the Week EPG. Personally I wouldn't be too worried about the EPG but as it's for a friend of a friend, I'd like to get it all working properly.
The box is connected directly into my router via LAN cable. DHCP is on, the same as in my router. Is there something I'm missing?
Is there another way to auto-update the EPG?

Once again, thanks for everyones help in getting this box back from the dead

Not sure what to say mate can not test the images but suspect the feeds are dead and thats the reason it wont download.

As ive said before some images will show as the internet is not connected but they actually are.

You have to have it in mind these images are so old.

Forget the above, I've just plugged the box into my satellite and all of the EPG started working.

Everyone on the forum, thank you for helping and especially Ferret, thanks for holding my hand through this and putting up with my constant questionning. If you need any help with anything website related, please ask as that's my area of expertise, not satellite receivers and I'd be more than happy to help

hello Loolnspain,
sorry for the really late reply, but i just saw your quote on my thread and i see that you have sorted your box. just out of curiosity, do you get the internet connection on the LAN menu? because i've just had a look on my box and it says like before "No internet connection". apart from that it works ok. Ferret's right. the links to the servers are no longer valid or working(maybe). anyway, like you i get most of the epg but i have to refresh it everytime i turn on the box. it's not auto.

Hey satp55, I get the same as you, 'no internet connection'. I think it would have to be the 2014 image to make that work.

I don't know if the EPG updates automatically, it did when I tested the box , all the programming came up without me touching it, but I've given it back to the guy now and he said it was working fine and I haven't seen him since.

Try the channel system Ferret posted as this seems to be working.
