My understanding is that CS is possible using CCCam to read and share the card perfectly happy - albeit issues with TM500\600 stb's. But it can also be done via CCCam & NewCs.

Are there any advantages in using the CCCam & NewCs combo - if there aren't any hardware issues? Is it faster, better, smaller footprint, more clients?

Cheers

ive always used newcs and mgcamd, in my mind, the weak link in any shared network is cccam as it 'reshares' even without your knowledge if you dont fully understand the workings of it

DD - going from a CCCam (entirely) based set up - is it much more involved or get my head round (if you know what I mean) to move to a NewCS + something, say mgcamd?

Also is mgcamd still being developed?

Thanks.

mgcamd is a client only emulator

newcs is a card server

cccam is both

clients talk to servers to get the keys they need

cccam is always being worked on to use the latest cards, this is what all the big commercial servers use, and this is whats being attacked

if you read the sky italia 'what happened' thread, it looks like they are attacking their own cards or something, as hop1 clients are still able to view, but 'reshares' are killed

newcs hasnt been developed for a while, but, i personally think they are waiting to see what ND$ does next, as oscam (similar to newcs) doesnt suffer like cccam does when these new attacks take place on the sky italia cards, as they are direct server-client share, not being reshared via cccam, even though some cccam clients are resharing it untill these attacks happen

cccam has taken the 'sharing' aspect out of card sharing, and will eventually kill the hobby for everyone

youll need to relearn newcs and mgcamd, but, once you have, its simple, none of this 'hops' and reshare rights etc, its direct

Any links\tips for Newcs & mgcamd or just check the usual places and get my head round them?

I've come across GBox in the past and IIRC it's been stated that it's a very tight & lightweight protocol. Any thoughts\experience with it?

Also - by moving from CCCam to NewCs & something - the auto update thing isn't going to work, requiring the card to go into the sub'd stb?

Cheers.

au works with newcs m8

when i learned it, there was not really any help available, so was mostly trial and error

but all the cs forums now have full tutorials for them

as far as i know cccam wont work alone on tm500/600 it must be used with newcs (i`m not saying it wont work with other, but just not on its own at the moment.)

we are using TM600 with cccam only but its freezing, would newcs + mgcamd resolve it?

is it possibal wen setting cs server up you can get peers to share bk upload speeds bit like torrents seeding ???

save yourself the hassle, and just invest in cheap Dream 500s clone to run as your CCCAM server, it's solid with CCCAM no issues with glitching or reading cards etc..no need to run multiple cams..

Re-use the TM600 as a cient reciever.

My TM600 is running Newcs with CCcam 2.1.1 and its rock solid ! However I hear that oscam is getting popular, especially for owners of Tm500/600....I am thinking about trying it myself as afterall this is a hobby and i like to experiment. I am led to believe it uses N lines the same as newcs, but can these N lines be abused by doing the 256 trick by clients ? Or can you control them better ?? Also is anyone can provide a link to a good tutorail that would be great.

or you could save yourself some cash and just use your tm500/600

install cccam and newcs 1.67 job done, plus if you use cccam 2.1.1 and newcs 1.67 you can support spiderbox 100 % with no freezing...............

Hi cheers cheeky,

I just wanted to report back I was directed to a cccam newcs combo by liam i think it was, and loaded that on and that has resolved!!

the 600 as s*erver and the other 600s as c*lients

how many tms could we run before we would gets probs?

we have greedy family membs who want 2 to 3 tms in the house! lol

cheers thanks alot!

so just to recap for anyone else with similar issues we had a white sub card which we just received a month ago with tm600 ur image 07/10 with cccam and newcs working smoothly!

before it ran smooth tm600 was shutting down and freezing regularly.

cheers for that!!

damn it means more wiring and cabling for me lol

may just tell them only 2 per house hehe

TBH - mate I'd tell them where to go! Moral of the story is - the less people you tell, the less hassle you get.

f you give them 2 connections per house, why would they have to come round yours to watch tv???

hmmm..

Coz i was thinking along the lines of the quote not to bother with doing any of it, ie no connections however if i did that then they would be round myn wanting to watch the footy etc,

where as if i say to the greedy ones who are used to having a unit in front, living, rec room and then bedrooms on top just 2 units then i will save myself alot of wiring and messing thats why i was enquiring as to how many c*lients can a 600 take when i was told 30 is ok i thought damn i cannot say the 600 can only handle like 10 c*lients!
