Anyone uses this before cheaper than the MAG box;s and run E2 as well

No wifi option built in on the ones i have done,It depends on your provider on the epg unless you use use a program to create an epg,Its a bit tricky getting a bouquets script to run as its only an iptv box and a script normally copies the rytec satellite over to iptv

I have mag 250.
My zgemma i55 arrived today. No doubt about I would have the i55 over mag box.
Much better with proper EPG.
Fast channel zapping.
Would reccommed i55 over mag box any day.
Pics below is how I have mine setup on i55.

Which way did you setup the epg on your box river,Did you use a script

I have a script for the zgemma boxes which will not work on the i55 boxes for some reason,When you run the script it popularizes the epg from the satellite channels and copies it over to the iptv channels,Will your script work on other boxes or is it unique to your supplier

@river4ever , Thanks for advice so far. Now I have no previous knowledge of CS or images or anything like that as Ive never had any of it before, My TV viewing has been freeview nothing more.
1: if I bought one of these zgemma i55 there is no built in wifi but I can buy an antenna or run it through powerline adapters or direct rj45. can you use dual band i.e 5ghz adapter
2:I take it the box is linux (again never used before) and not android and with with original firmware/image do I need to change that to another image to get mine looking like yours above? is that easy to do via pc and box FTP the image over or is it something totally different?
3:my wife will use this box mainly as a networked media player watching movies and series from my local NAS and I will use it mainly for footie and racing channels via IPTV. can we do both easily switching between media player and IPTV,
4: Is there a main interface page with media player and iptv apps listed where you click on which APP you want to use and it starts either? or would the box boot to a sky epg like yours.

Sorry if these questions are daft but as said never delved into this before

if your iptv provider allows it. Have you tired recording an iptv channel while watching another on this box?

I use the i55 mainly for iptv and always use hard wired connection mate.
If you go for the i55 you will need to get a supplier that offers a script to make it look mine then flash box with ipab is what i always reccomened.
(runs openATV 6.0)
Yes they are linux based boxes.
There is a file list button you press to get to HDD. But they are mainly iptv boxes with no apps so to speak.
When you telnet script in all iptv channels/VOD and boxsets are in your bouquets so no need to spend time looking for what you need.

Really good box at cheap price but would say for iptv only mate.
(But to have it looking like mine you will need to find a supplier that offers a script)

No recordings is allowed mate.
It will lock the channel after 20 seconds of recording.

You can record on the i55 and set it up without the need of a script for full epg which i have done a few times this week,You need to ask your supplier for a multiroom sub,Have it working faultless and i am in the middle of doing a full guide for a few forums i am on,Will be ready end of next week

do ipab/openatv have a similar EPG?

Im on a Vu+ Solo2 i am having a lot of issues with recording on Vix 5. i have been using vix for 7 years and im afraid to leave it. ill miss the nice EPG it has:?:?

Im nearly certain its the image but have not had time to test and couldnt be bodered having to listen to the misses about the different setup of another image at the moment.

Vu solo is a great box and will run iptv just fine if you have a decent broadband speed,Vix is ok but most iptv providers are playing the safe game and running with openatv,There is another forum which i am on which is a big supplier of genuine boxes but the support for iptv is not great and they are an openvix forum

I have good internet and have no issues watching an IPTV channel live but if i record a IPTV channel while watching another or while watching a sat channel, the IPTV recording is unwatchable.

Ill try the weekend with a clean VIX image and see if that resolves the issues, if it doesnt ill try openatv or ipab. it be great if the misses didnt notice.

when u say playing it safe with openatv. what do you mean is openatv considered the best for IPTV? i know ipab is pretty much for IPTV but dont know much about openatv.

i know the forum u speak of i am also a member there.

Ipab is openatv and like most people you are most likely on a single connection off your provider,Please i do know what i am talking about,If you are on a single connection and you try and record then it will just keep switching to the channel you are watching so hence the freezing, please speak to your provider and ask for help,If anyone is struggling please i am only on this forum for a little while most days but be glad to help anyone struggling

i have multi room for 3 connections. I contacted my provider as i though he may of made a mistake and only configured the connection for 1 but he confirmed i had 3. He said test it with another image.

i also tired using mutiple different IPTV providers and got the same result
