I am curious especially in terms of satellite boxes, does the hardware specification matter when running IPTV

Do you need a decent CPU in order to get a good IPTV experience.

I have a Zgemma H2S and so far all is good. I haven't noticed any difference. It's through an XC plugin.
I do have a Mag, as well.

yes makes a big difference.
I have 2 zgemmas.
(H2.H & 2s)

im running ip*v flawless script in both boxes. The H.2H model works perfect.
The older 2s model seriously struggles. It does work but very poor.
Mostly on sly movies HD and boxsets in HD.
When turning it over to sly movies it freezes a lot. It is not buffering as it's clear to see the box is struggling.
Never have that issue on H.2H model.
(Running 50meg fibre)

so the synopsis is a dual core CPU is recommended like a H2H or a H5. I have a bog standard Star S so will try it out on that box to see if it struggles as you say.

Just PM'd you river4ever.

done some test on various boxs results as follows

ZGemma Star S - streaming works with no issue or any buffering
ZGemma H5 - streaming works with no issue or any buffering
Edison OS Mini - streaming works with no issue or any buffering

a note I am a VM 200 Mb broadband running thru a dedicated pfsense firewall router (Desktop 4GB RAM, 2 GHz Core2Duo CPU with 1 GB Network cards) so that may make my experience better compared to others on a lower broadband speed and supplier provided wireless wifi router

can you confirm that HD box sets stream ok on the model mentioned above mate?
also what why are you running IPTV?

didnt test the HD box sets just the live channels. like sky sports HD movies etc and BT Sports HD last night for CL final.

As for why IPTV wanted to test it out as I know a few family and friends who have said box and end of world for them once Sly channels go black so wanted to confirm IPTV runs on a ZGemma Star S

What method of IPTV are you running?
also does boxsets in HD run good?

the reason I say is that 200meg is not of importance streaming.
With poor processor power is issue.
Especially on star S model.
Are you running flawless or using separate plugin?

keen to find out how one of the weakest zgemmas can run so good.
As we know 200meg is not important.
Seen IPTV running of 15meg with no issues.
(Mag box)

they will stream iptv.
(Slowly)

channels will give issues when flicking through them.
Mostly when turning from one channel to another.
I have seen major issues with older zgemmas. Will they work?....
YES.
But crap.
i watch what I need to on similar model.
But would never say they run perfectly unless I missed a trick?

i will upload a video tomorrow to show how well 2s zgemma deals with IPTV.
Not a buffering issue...
stream sly movies HD or boxsets in HD.
(reference to star S model)
other models mentioned will ok.

The one I used was integrated into boqueat (yes I spelt it wrong), navigating thru the channels was slow with the Star D, but once select and it started playing had no issues at all.

I didn't test any of the Boxsets in HD
