Cheap droid box for about £30. Just make sure you get one with 2gb ram or more.

I got this off amazon for my son:

Haehne RK3188 Quad Core Android 4.2.

Nice little box.

i had another look, can see 2 have 1gb and the other has 512mb, so looking for one with 2gb you say, take the ram will just make it run better

is there any pluses or minuses between these boxes and an amazon fire stick

been watching boxes with 2gb on ebay

Amazon firestick is really good as long as you have good wifi.if you have bt i would prob go for something with an ethernet connection.

@GIO You can use Android apps a lot easier with a box, Show box, Modbro etc.

You can also plug in usb pen drives with music, photoes, movies etc, they are really good media players.

ive been eyeing this up - M8S Amlogic 2GB/8GB KODI S812 Quad Core TV Box Wifi H.264 HEVC Android 4.4 Dual and if i get it for less than the firestick i will go for it, it has 2gb of ram against the 1gb on firestick

That's a fair spec GIO, if it is also using the mali450 gpu it is really good value, a bonus for under £35. The newer more expensive one's will run H.265 files, but if it's for the kids You should be fine.
