The Football Association is investigating allegations England manager Sam Allardyce used his role to negotiate a £400,000 deal and offer advice on how to "get around" rules on player transfers.

The Telegraph claims to have footage from August of Allardyce meeting men claiming to represent a Far East firm where he appears to say third-party ownership rules can be avoided.

The 61-year-old has yet to respond to the allegations, while the FA has asked to see the paper's filmed recordings.

Third-party ownership of players was banned by the FA in 2008.

During the meeting with the businessmen, who were undercover reporters, it is alleged Allardyce said it was "not a problem" to bypass the rules and he knew of agents who were "doing it all the time".

It is alleged by the paper that a deal was struck with the England boss worth £400,000, which could represent a conflict of interest if he is paid by a company whose footballer clients could benefit from preferential treatment by an international manager.

Third-party ownership, in which investment companies take a stake in the economic rights of players, was described as a form of "slavery" by Michel Platini, the former president of European football's governing body Uefa president.

Oh dear...after he was so excited to get his dream job...

He'll be the shortest reigning England manager for a long time!!

Dodgy business deals was the downfall of probably one of the best England managers we've had (in my opinion) Terry Venables

Yep great manager, but could outdo Arthur Daley when it came to ducking and diving.

The most successful england manager ever with a 100% win ratio gets his jotters?....bit harsh no!

More to come out in the papers over the next few days I'm guessing.
The FA don't normally act this quickly or decisively so I reckon they've been given the nod that worse is to come.

Absolute Idiot!

Is 3 million a year not enough?

If he is this stupid we might have dodged a bullet lol.

The Telegraph are going to name a further 6 English managers that they've got bang-to-rights in the same fashion, there'll be a few sleepless nights for them I think. :FRIGHT:

Managers on the make ... as described by agents

Exclusive: Eight Premier League managers accused of taking transfer bungs

Manager 1

Ex-Premier League manager allegedly liked “bungs” in cash or deposited in a Swiss bank account. Pagliara said: “I can call [X] now and all it is with [X] is 'How much, Pino? And will it be the same Swiss bank account?’”

Manager 2

Ex-top flight manager has had “more backhanders than Wimbledon”. Pagliara said: “This is what I hate... the guy that used to need the money but he’s had so much now that all of a sudden he’s whiter than white.”

Manager 3

After managing several British clubs, he was allegedly fired by one for having “his fingers in the till”. Pagliara said he would get involved if “you understand that when we do deals I have to have a carrier bag with some cash”.

Manager 4

Pagliara said of this boss with Premier League experience: “We know him very, very well. We do a transfer, [X] has winked at us and said 'Yeah, I want the player. Is there a little coffee for me, Pino?’ Yeah, course there is.”

Manager 5

Ex-Premier League manager who, said Pagliara, would call him and say “here’s the number”, and give him details of a Swiss account. He said: “It was always numbered accounts.”

Manager 6

A former player who now manages, he allegedly likes extra money to secure deals because he is not on a big salary at his club. Pagliara said: “[X] takes a few [inaudible] because he’s not being paid big money.”

Manager 7

Ex-Premier League manager is another “we can put on the payroll”. If a player was transferred for £10m, “we’ll turn round to [X] and say, listen, if you take this player we’ll look after you. OK? OK, boom.”

Manager 8

Agent Dax Price said this long-serving manager would pick three trusted players and tell them he was paying them an extra £8,000 per month, on condition that they paid him £4,000 per month each.

He did have a 100% record for being an England Manager though played one won one. That's gotta be good right?. ;)

Time to give Mike Basset another go at the job?

I would be happy with Bertie Bassett at the moment. The liquorice man. He will soon have them playing like Spanish. ;)

Just remember Pino Pagliara is as dodgy as they come, banned from conducting transfers and found guilty of match fixing in Italy, I wouldn't be surprised if he was in on the sting of Alladyce, I would take what he says with a pinch of salt

Mind you Alladyce is definitely no good, remember the investigation into him and he's son who is also an agent, that was 10 years ago !

Allardyce 'took bungs' claims BBC investigation | The Independent

no smoke without fire it would seem, I would not believe or trust any of them

When Allardyce was appointed I vowed never to watch another England game until he'd gone, I didn't think that would be so soon!!

He is a greedy sod who loves the sound of his own voice, I am glad he got caught out
