I thought the groups took a while to get started.

But the Second stage (round of 16) has been great, especially the games that have gone to extra time... it all seemed to happen in extra time lol.

Hopefully the Quarter Finals will bring us some excitement - roll on friday missing the footie lol.

All in all I think a good world cup so far!

What do you think?

Regards
Mick

very god ,some poor referee decisions in the 1st round but some fantastic goals. USA v Belgium was fantastic to watch (even being 0-0 until extra time) as were the Dutch in their 1st game against Spain.

Lookng forward to Brazil v Columbia and France V Germany tomo

Think I'm having a double.......Colombia and France

Some cracking games and some cracking talent on show. Only 2 things have spoilt it for me. 1. Jaws lol and 2. Mr roben diving all over the place against Mexico :(

i think this has been the best world cup in a long long time. Even the group stage matches were filled with goals and its just getting better all the time.
Roll on Friday

I think this is the best World Cup yet that I've seen (including 1996, which I thought was shite).
However, I can't help thinking that the referees are siding with Brazil, certainly against Croatia and definitely against Columbia.
The referee in that match could clearly see that James Rodrigous was being targeted and let let many bad moves on him go unpunished. Didn't do Brazil any favours though, because Columbia must have thought since ref not interested in fair play, to play it Brazil's way. The result: Neyma stretchered off.

It might be me, but not seen any good game yet
Most teams seem to be relying on one player to carry them, and whole of team working around that player.
To me football is a team game and strategy should be based of the whole team, not just one player
take Messi out of Argentina, or Robbin out of Holland and not much will be happening.
This is why on second round most games went to extra times, because teams started to man mark these main players and rest of the team didn't know what to do!!!
Brazil are shitting themselves as Neymar is out, so lets see if they can prove me wrong

I enjoyed the group stages which were mostly free flowing and high scoring games ,however since that as you would expect the games have become much tighter and the goals have dried up ,i would rather see a European final as it would be a more open and attacking contest than an south american final which will be a cynical free ridden game.

I agree with this post, btw for me Argentina played only defensive tactics, with Messi and co waiting for the mistake of the opponent

I don't like football and this was proven by the silly amount of DW cash I lost to the bookies :(
