Ill be very surprised if this is correct

Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson is to sell Wayne Rooney in the summer, according to the News of the World.

The paper claims that Rooney and Ferguson's relationship, already rocky following the striker's contract negotiations last autumn, has reached an all-time low in recent weeks - despite the fact that the 25-year-old has finally rediscovered his scoring touch.
The paper's source claims that, "relations between Rooney and Ferguson are so strained that it is affecting other players," adding that, "Sir Alex is not pleased with the way Rooney has been playing... Rooney has been moaning about the squad again but Sir Alex has told him he should look at himself before criticising others."
With United's other stars - particularly striker Javier Hernandez - spearheading the club's efforts in this campaign, the way is apparently clear for the Red Devils to cash in on a player that Ferguson has simply had enough of dealing with. Rooney is expected to fetch a fee to the tune of around £60-80 million.

Don't believe anything that paper prints.

Seems a bit unbelievable. where would he go ? Man City !

gr8 news.... lets get rid of this overrated piece of crap and replace him with someone who really wants to play for us... watchin javier hernandez playin with a smile on face is a breath of fresh air.. a young man livin the dream who wants to play for us... the sooner rooney goes, the better... better players have come and gone with possibly ronaldo the only one not to be replaced... rooney can be replaced no matter what anyone says...

sed this all along. he's a dik with a bit of talent from a rough arse place. that got his and her's out off there
there's a saying in liverpool rooney's tramps with dosh....
if he leaves man u he's deffo going to end up like gazza but worse lol

Personally i hope he goes too, the last good game he had was in the Last seasons Champions league game against Bayern Munich.

since then whats he done, scored 1 wonder goal.

Just to add to the conspiracy, he has been quoted today as trying to talk Van Der Sar in to staying on after this season - so make of that what you will!!

I would rather see VDS retire at the top of his game, rather than on the slide down and see ppl slate him. Think best thing for united is if they can get him into some sort of consulting/coaching capacity, where he can help the newer keepers like Anders settle in.
But even that might be hard to do, as he wants to spend time with his wife who is not in good health condition at moment, which is understandable

Doesn't it say that he is going to be sending his kid to a school in Wilmslow though in a year, if that is the case then you can only assume that he will be living in the area for large parts of the year...

Wayne Rooney dismisses talk of leaving Man Utd

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has said reports of him leaving Old Trafford in the summer are "rubbish".

The 25-year-old signed a new five-year-contract in October and said he wanted to stay at the club into his 30s.

"I saw [those reports], but I've never seen such rubbish in my life," he said. "My relationship with Sir Alex has no problems whatsoever.

"I'm enjoying my football here and if I was going to leave in the summer I wouldn't have signed a new contract."

Rooney looked back to his best in United's 2-1 Champions League win over Marseille on Tuesday, setting up Javier Hernandez for the first goal.

And although he has suffered from an ankle injury, which he says is now behind him, the England forward said he was upset that his commitment had been queried.

"You get angry when people question you," he said. "On Sunday, I was on the way home from training. I stopped off at the garage to get petrol and a few people asked me if I was leaving in the summer.

"I didn't know where it had come from. I said 'Where did you hear that?' and he said it was in the newspapers. But I'll be here until I'm well into my 30s.

"I signed a new contract to stay here and unless I'm ever not wanted then I'll be staying here, that's for sure."

The deal that Rooney signed in the autumn represented a dramatic U-turn after the former Everton player initially stated he wanted to leave the club, claiming they could not match his ambition.

But he said: "I admit I made a mistake, like I've said lots of times, by saying I wanted to leave. But I've committed my future to United and I'm happy and my family are happy so there's no reason for me to want to move elsewhere.

"I want to try and win more trophies and bring more success to this club."

Rooney scored 34 goals for Manchester United last season but suffered an ankle injury in the first leg of his side's Champions League quarter-final defeat by Bayern Munich.

After a poor World Cup for England in South Africa last summer, Rooney has found the net only nine times this season - although there have been occasional glimpses of class, such as his superb overhead kick in last month's Manchester derby.

But in the last two games against Arsenal in the FA Cup on Saturday and Tuesday's win over Marseille, there have been signs that he could rekindle the form which made his last year's PFA player of the year and Rooney said that was down to his improved physical state.

"I feel sharp and fit again," said Rooney. "When I first got back playing for about two months I was still very aware of my ankle. It still felt weak so it had been on my mind.

"But now I am going in for tackles and am twisting and turning. It is fully mended and 100% now. I am happy that is off my mind now."
