I will be keeping an active eye on this thread as a nuetral, it maybe better if only Celtic fans post in here unless theres some genuine news or information concerning Football or Celtic football club in particular, anyway no wind ups or shite, you all get the picture ;)

Have Fun

Not being funny, genuine question, but are neutral's expected to stay clear of here too, we can read it but don't post?
HH.

No m8 all welcome to post, just as long as it's to do with Celtic and not some wind up or dig at anyone, hope that clears that up HH

to be honest neutrals in my book are cool, lets adopt common sense here I WILL NOT POST ANYTHING ON THE RANGERS FORUM, and would hope the well known rangers fans dont post anything on this (other than congrats when the league is won ;-)

i will still read this rangers forum as im interested what their fans make of things such as impending take overs, new manager etc.. however wouldnt comment on it.. and equally would hope rangers fans do likewise with this forum..

its sad in a way but its the best way to do it and saves any arguements this way they can post what they like within reason as can celtic fans in here.

if they post something that i think is anti celtic its fine its in their forum and i dont mind at all...

i would like to thank mairyhinge and bronto for this far better solution..

Celtic boss Neil Lennon has persuaded Cardiff City youngster Adam Matthews (pictured) to ignore Premier League interest and move to Parkhead. The Welsh teenager has been linked with Manchester United, but Cardiff sources told The Sun newspaper that the deal has been done and the £4million-rated full-back could join Celtic for as little as £200,000 in the summer.

the team is working for Lennon now a days its going to be a hard battle till the end but whoever wins the league at the end of the season is the best team and deserved to win it as its a marathon not a sprint,, it would make it a lot more interesting if other clubs challenged the old firm more

think last nights result only makes it easier for lenny to win the league :) too many games (albeit as things stand both old firm clubs have played the same number of gmaes this year... however we have a far bigger squad with more quality outside the first 11

Celtic have signed Cardiff City's teenage right-back Adam Matthews on a pre-contract agreement.

The Wales under-21 international will join the Glasgow club on 1 July and has clinched a four-year deal with Celtic.

Andreas Hinkel and Mark Wilson are out of contract at the end of the season and manager Neil Lennon has moved to increase his options at full-back.

"The 19-year-old is one of the most exciting young prospects in the Championship," said the Celtic website.

"It's a real coup for the club to have secured his signing."

Great bit of business if you ask me, add Kelvin Wilson on a free.. and that beefs up our definsive options apparantly the boy was rated 4-5m before entering into dispute with the club.

Ledley: We're aiming to get three points
By: Mark Henderson on 26 Feb, 2011 10:27

CELTIC are certainly not lacking forward momentum at present. The Hoops’ emphatic 3-0 over Rangers last weekend made it 17 games unbeaten and extended their advantage at the top of the SPL to eight points.

It’s a commanding position to be in but Joe Ledley insists the only way it will be maintained is through ensuring no-one looks ahead of the next fixture, starting with Sunday’s away match at Motherwell.

“We have done well lately, especially Sunday,” said the midfielder. “It was a big performance by the boys and confidence is high, but we still have a lot of games to go and we need to knuckle down and get a win now on Sunday.

“We just have to go out there and play our football and hopefully if we do that we can get the result we're all looking for. We know it’s going to be a tough game but we believe in the team and the management.

“We are taking it game by game and are looking forward to the next one. We just have to keep going now all the way until the end of the season.

"There are still a lot of games to play and we will get as many points as we can and hopefully we will be at the top.

“Obviously Rangers have two games in hand and if they win those they are only two points behind and we still have to play them as well, but we are just glad to have got the points on the board, and we move on now and try and get as many points now until the end of the season."

Ledley reckons the reason behind the results lies in a real togetherness and self-belief among the squad.

“I think we all believe in each other as a team,” he explained. “The gaffer has brought in some good players and kept some good players as well. It’s just confidence as well I think. We are playing with great confidence and the results are coming as well.

“The season is not over yet, though,” he added. “There is a long way to go and we just have to keep our head down, knuckle down and work hard.”

Match Report

Sutton brace sees off Celtic A John Sutton double gave Motherwell an unlikely 2-0 win over Clydesdale Bank Premier League leaders Celtic on a dramatic afternoon at Fir Park. The Well striker pounced in the second minute after hesitation between Charlie Mulgrew and goalkeeper Fraser Forster to knock the ball into an empty net. Celtic recovered to take control of the game but, at the start of the second half, after Hoops left-back Emilio Izaguirre had been adjudged by referee Euan Norris to have fouled Motherwell skipper Keith Lasley in the box, Sutton blasted in the spot-kick. Although television pictures indicated the award was soft, Motherwell held onto the lead with all they could muster to register their first home win over Celtic since 2005. On another day Celtic might have won with some ease but Motherwell, despite having to defend for long spells, could have added to their lead which will be a worry for Hoops manager Neil Lennon. Celtic went into the game on top form, unbeaten in 17 games, but they got off to a nightmare start. In the first minute Hoops defender Mulgrew missed a challenge on Chris Humphrey down the right, allowing the Well wideman to bear down on Forster. However, luckily for the visitors, defender Daniel Majstorovic was quickly over to block the shot at the expense of a corner which came to nothing. But seconds later, Mulgrew and Forster both hesitated when Gavin Gunning sent a long, hopeful punt into the Celtic box and Sutton nipped in to round the keeper and gratefully slide the ball into an empty net. Celtic's response was swift and moments later defender Mark Wilson climbed high at the back post to reach a Kris Commons free-kick but headed over the bar. Motherwell had half a chance when Jamie Murphy's cross from the left ended up at Humphrey but his angled shot from 14 yards was snatched and flew wide. At the other end, with the home defence all over the place, Darren Randolph had to make a fine point-blank save from Anthony Stokes and seconds later the big keeper threw himself down to his left to push a Scott Brown shot from distance past the post. Motherwell survived the corner but it looked only a matter of time before the Hoops levelled although Stokes again missed a chance in the 38th minute when he turned and drove high over from 16 yards. In the final minute, as Celtic pressed again, the Irishman had a shot from 10 yards cleared away by Well defender Shaun Hutchinson as it sped past Randolph. The start of the second half was as dramatic as the beginning of the first with Sutton grabbing his second goal from a penalty within three minutes. Celtic failed to clear their lines after Hutchinson had headed a Forbes corner against the bar and, when Izaguirre tangled with Lasley in the box, referee Norris pointed to the spot and Sutton drove the ball past Forster. Wilson and Stokes were taken off minutes later, replaced by Georgios Samaras and Efrain Juarez, and Celtic pounded the home side who were forced into some frantic defending. In the 54th minute Commons' long-distance free-kick beat the Motherwell defensive wall and Randolph but rebounded off the keeper's right-hand post. It was another escape but, in a Motherwell breakaway, Murphy switched play to send Humphrey clear down the right only for the Well player to hesitate before getting his shot in and the ball struck Forster, who then pounced on the loose ball. In the 65th minute James Forrest replaced Ki in what was Celtic's last throw of the dice with regards substitutions. Celtic continued to push forward but with less conviction and in the 71st minute Motherwell carved open another chance on the break but Murphy's goal-bound shot from 12 yards was blocked by Sutton, who was trying to get out of the way. The leaders kept coming and Mulgrew had a header from a Commons free-kick saved by Randolph and then Commons shot high over after finding a yard of space inside the Motherwell box. In the first minute of added time Randolph tipped a Commons shot over the bar as it headed for the top corner as Motherwell defended stoutly until the final whistle before heralding their first home win over Celtic in 6 years.

i am not too bothered truth be told (maybe i should be? about todays result) but we were due a defeat and i assumed it would come in one of the old firm games, hopefully this will give the players a kick up the arse and they will kick on again..

Celtic will host Manchester United on 22 May in a testimonial match for John Kennedy, the defender who was forced to retire through injury, before United's former captain Gary Neville will get his testimonial when Celtic travel to Old Trafford the following midweek.

getting a bit sick of testimonials truth be told, after giggs had his testimonial with around 10k celtic fans popping down he then dives in a champions league game against us! lol no more cash from me

Can we not think of another club to play we play Man U more a season now than clubs in the SPL (feels like it anyway) what about Newcastle or Arsenal or even Chelsea anybody but another bloody Man U game

just getting sick of clubs approaching celtic to play in testimonials knowing we will take 10k tickets.. also disagree with testimonials on principal these days anyway Neville is a multi millionaire by now, to ask punters to stump up £30 or whatever per head is a joke, unless he is doing what big niall quinn did and give it to charity

Hopefully g nev does give the cash to charity as like you say he is a millionaire and does not need the cash but good to see Celtic give Kennedy a testimonial he was a great player and career cut short by injury think it all started from that horror injury he got playing for Scotland.
